I know there are a lot of racist white guys out there, particularly among GOP primary voters, but how clueless is Trump? There's no way alienating ALL hispanic voters, as well as all other voters put off by constant race baiting can be a winning strategy in any non-southern state. Where does this lead for him?

I get the sense most of the GOP candidates are only pounding the trail in order to appear "serious" enough to land a smattering of paid speaking gigs after they concede/drop out, and ideally a regular well-paid Fox News gig like Mike Huckabee did... but what's Trump's angle here? He appears to be squandering some % of his own (alleged) billions for shits and giggles.

I would say it's racist because: 1.) it's absurd to consider the relative trickle of people coming across the border (of all things) as big of a problem as he seems to, having more or less made it his #1 campaign issue thus far; 2.) he's mainly (if not completely) blaming the immigrants themselves, not the companies here who hire them (including his own), or the economic circumstances that compel them to enter the country illegally; and 3.) at least here in Chicago and some other places around the midwest, you're likely to encounter (and probably employ) illegal immigrants from Eastern Europe if you hire a maid, babysitter, nanny, etc. than you are Mexicans/Central Americans, but he's not going after white illegal immigrants.

I have to admit though, I'm only aware of his statements and the backlash they create that other people reference on my twitter feed. I generally try to avoid listening to his idiocy... maybe he's not as much of a racist POS as others are claiming?

Well, he never specifically said "start calling me Gulo" or "stop calling me Red" just that he changed his profile name, so I kept calling him Red. It wasn't intended to be disrespectful. note: I honored Hungry's request to stop calling him bungaman when he changed his name, even though we weren't exactly buddies at the time.
