appears the Lions top priority might be Tulloch...

"""The Detroit News suggests re-signing impending free agent Stephen Tulloch will be a priority for the Lions.
Tulloch played on a one-year, $3,25 million contract this season. He leads the team with 97 tackles and has played almost every down. Expect coach Jim Schwartz to push for his former Titans pupil to get a long-term deal in Detroit. '''''

Avril will be interesting....Had a great year in the stat department.

CJ signing long term deal to free up some cap space(scheduled to earn $14 Mill in 2012).

Great move. Tulloch never quits and is rarely out of position. I hope we give him his due.

That would be great news and honestly I see Tulloch resigning with us.

As for CJ, I said we had to make the playoffs and he had to have a big year and Staff had to stay healthy if we hoped to resign him...and that happened.

gotta do Calvin this year.....Stafford next year , and probably Suh the year after.

Lions have big time $$$$ to pay out in the next few years....thats what happens when your high picks pan out...which is I guess a good thing to be talking about as Lions fans finally.

Lions have big time money to pay out but they got screwed with top 5 picks before the CBA. Stafford, Suh and Calvin are all worth it but their contracts are way too ridiculous that the Lions may some lose some people because of it. Calvin resign is a must as 15 million cap number on the end of a rookie deal is just ridiculous money they throw in that the player should never see.

Based on all the expiring contracts, dead money and IR players that won't be back minus increases in cap numbers for players returning like Calvin,KVB,Stafford etc, Lions should have about 8 million plus whatever the increase in the cap is. Resigning Calvin is a must to fit Tulloch and Avril. And Eric Wright is probably gone.

CJs cap number after longterm deal will drop at least for the first 2 years to 9+ million. KVBs contract could be reworked and Backus will be gone or have a reduced salary.

Mitch[/color]]Expect the cap to go up quite abit, maybe 20m.

not in 2012.....

2012 Salary Cap

The expected 2012 Salary Cap will be around $125 million and that includes the $1.5 million total, three player credits. In 2012, each club may "borrow" up to $1.5 million in cap room from a future year. Both these amounts would be repaid in future years.
Beginning in 2012, salary cap to be set based on a combined share of "all revenue," a new model differentiated by revenue source with no expense reductions. Players will receive 55 percent of national media revenue, 45 percent of NFL Ventures revenue, and 40 percent of local club revenue.

If it came down to letting Avril or Tulloch walk to keep around CJ, Staff, and Suh.

Buh bye Cliff

Stevie Johnson wants 7.5 million a year....if he gets that CJ's agent is going to pop wood on the spot.

BUF has given up too much of their talent at WR. They might have to pay him in order to justify their Fitzpatrick decision.

BUF wants it to be between 5-5.5. He'll probably end up somewhere around 6.5.
