My mom, who recently retired, works as a volunteer for Potter Park Zoo in Lansing. They held a silent auction fundraiser last night, during the game. Amongs the items available for bidding:
[list:zt3mfdvr][*]An autographed Woodson Michigan jersey[/*:m:zt3mfdvr]<li/>A couple framed autographed Schembechler pictures[*]A Hoke-autographed football in an engraved glass box[/*:m:zt3mfdvr]<li/>Framed and matted 1997-98 tickets and a Rose Bowl program (or something like that)[*]An autographed Woodley Steeler jersey[/list:u:[/*:m:zt3mfdvr]<UID>]All the people that would have put up big money for these things were obviously not going to a zoo fundraiser and in the 3rd quarter, my mom call to say that some items weren't even getting bids. The minimum bids were reasonably high enough so that nothing would have gone for a steal, but still..what a waste. The good news for me is that my wife went outside to make some phone calls and missed some football she wouldn't normally miss (and this morning she asked if we could get a bigger house so she could build me a manroom). I'm somewhat excited for my next birthday...or Christmas...or whatever.
