Urban Meyer 7yr deal

Well, I wouldn't post something that hadn't come from a very reliable source. This guy has been right on just about everything that has developed during Tattgate and said it's a done deal -- announcement after this weekend.

I thought they were waiting on the NCAA sanctions before making the announcement. Just to make sure there are no surprises.

I asked the same thing. Story was that the school reached out and asked for 'ballpark' sanctions. No matter what, if it is a 7yr deal you're talking longterm and I think we all expect a Bowl ban, maybe two and some acholarships lost ...but that's it. I don't know - this isn't from Twitter or some official news, it's just from a guy I work with who has strong family ties to the school and has basically been accurate about other things. He called Tressel's resignation to the day and seems to have people he knows who are in the know back in Columbus.

It could be wrong, but coming from him I figured I'd post it

that's the funny thing .... so what?! Urban Meyer, yeah ....big shock, hasn't exactly dominated Michigan (as Cooper had in the Rose Bowl for ASU)

I don't understand why they would do this, and why Urban would accept, before getting official word on the sanctions.

If true, nice to see that OSU is ready to move on from tattgate and all the related issues. I doubt the NCAA is ready?

Yeah, pretty disrespectful of the current coach. Even if he is interim. And disrespectful of the team. I mean, how do the seniors feel about their current coach being replaced no matter if they win? Can't be a moral booster. But fuck OSU anyway. Whoever they bring in let's hope The Game will be restored to its rightful place in sports.
