Urban Meyer

...or a nice built-in excuse for Spartan fans if OSU wins.

No, if we lose to osu at full strength so be it. Just showing the video I found. Delaney is going to sweeo this under for their flagship program. They won't pass up the chance to put a team in thr title game.

Not sure why one would think Meyer should suspend them. Didn't break any team rules, get in trouble with the law, or fail to perform academically. They were ejected from the game. Put anything beyond that in Delaney's hands and live with whatever is decided there.

I prefer to see teams in championship games at full strength anyway.

crazy, it shows braxton leaving the field and either punching or slapping someone, he definitely grabbed a facemask and wrestled someone to the ground and then he was pulled back by teammates.

i think if that happened in mid season in the Illinois vs Iowa game, those guys would be suspended for sure. since it happened to OSU the week before the big ten title game, i think it will be no action or a suspension for 1 game in 2014

maybe they have two #5's on their roster? that could be anybody...

If they didn't suspend Lewan for yanking the facemask, a play that was replayed multiple times on national TV throughout the broadcast, I don't see why they would suspend these guys. Anyone who thinks this isn't about the money is fooling themselves.

That said, I'd probably rather face Braxton. The dude isn't a good thrower, and I like our chances against a 60 minute wildcat better than a true dual threat QB.

They suspended Gholston, but I don't see any players getting suspended. The B1G won't take a chance to try and be on top again. This is the commissioner's chance to prove he sets higher standards from the athletes in the B1G. The brawl in Miami had 31 players suspended and the Clemson one had 12 players suspended and the teams took themselves out of bowls. This wasn't as bad but you cant have people leaving the bench pulling facemasks and throwing punches.

Look, I hate to go all conspiracy theory, but the NCAA is a money making machine. The B1G wouldn't have it's own television network without OSU and UM. We can talk fairness and we can talk integrity, but those are just buzzwords for the media. What matters are dollars and cents. UM still had a chance to be somebody after the MSU loss, to go to a big time bowl game and make big time bucks. OSU is primed to go to the national championship and raise not just tons of money but pull tons of eyes towards the B1G.

I'm a State fan. I've watched us lose out on recruits and bowl games to higher income schools for decades now. That's just how it is. You don't bite the hand that feeds, and the B1G likely isn't going to hurt their richest teams unless someone higher up forces their hand.

good article here

good point on the big ten claiming to be a cut above everyone else but then going soft on the punishment, the precedent was set with the tat 5 getting to play vs Arkansas and then getting suspended for the following season

I agree, that's why no one will be suspended. I doubt the B1G comes out an says anything about the brawl. If they do say anything it will be about how the players were already punished by being ejected.
