We should get 2 losses for that pathetic home loss. Embarrassing free throw shooting

Wasn't watching but saw Ward was 1-9. Ouch.

Might have pissed away a chance at a #1 seed with that loss.

A hand full of really unlikely things had to happen for us to lose that game, but the bottom line is we got outworked. IU played harder than we did.
So the FT shooting is just an excuse. IU going nuts from 3 when they are awful from 3 is an excuse. The refs screwing us is an excuse. You don’t get to make excuses when you clearly didn’t play as hard as the other team.

Season spoiling loss right there.

The team had been so consistent up until this point, maybe they were due for a clunker. Let's hope it was a one game blip.

What would concern me is the fact that the team has gotten it's butt kicked on the boards 2 games in a row and that Cassius is really carrying a heavy load because Ward hasn't been very good the past few games (and who knows where his head is at after that effort at the stripe). Again without Langford those 2 need to be there every game (especially if McQuaid is only going to score 3 points).

I did read somewhere that Ward had the flu earlier in the week, so maybe that can explain some things. Again, let's hope it was just a whatever could go wrong did deal for one night.

I too hope that?s just an annual inexplicable loss for a team. You can point to many great MSU teams losing an annual head scratcher over the years. Even Duke losing at home to Syracuse this year falls in that category. Illinois is awful but winning on the road is never a given and we always seem to struggle there, who knows what to expect.

it's an excuse and it's not. When things aren't going your way, you don't need to have a crap night at the line to make it worse. They could have competed harder but I don't think they could do much more to stop IU from having their best shooting performance from 3 - it's not like they just gave them open looks all night.
