Warner has a point

Pettigrew may have only 2 legit drops but he doesn't get enough separation for my liking. He's a good tight end but I just wish he were a little faster. And with Best out now, the 2nd main focus after Calvin is on Pettigrew because nobody needs to worry about a RB in the flat. Oline isn't helping out Staffords mechanics off his back foot/sidearm from time to time and Burleson and Young have disappeared for a few weeks now.

you wish he was faster...lol

he wasn't drafted to stretch the field...he was drafted as a blocking TE and a safety blanket for Stafford 8 - 10 yards off the ball.

wanna bitch about a TE...bitch about Scheffler , he's the guy who is supposed to be stretching the field.

Like QBR as opposed to Passer Rating you should incorporate when the drops happen. I'm not positive but with Pettigrew he seems to drop passes at key times ie 3rd down conversions or late in games. So in short is a first and 10 drop in the 1st Q worth as much as a 3rd and 7 drop in the 4th Q? However drops being at key times may just be a perception thing as they are obviously stick out in the mind.

Must be getting enough seperation for a (descently) innaccurste QB to feed him the ball that many times since he's been in the league)

I know he wasn't drafted to stretch the field but it would be nice if he could more separation than he does on the underneath and intermediate stuff. Yeah Scheffler isn't doing his job either. Pettigrews run blocking hasn't been that great this year either.

Pettigrew isn't playing poorly but I wouldn't say he's playing good this year either.

I got no problem with a guy who has given us 100+ catches the last 1 1/2 years....

for pettigrew to be effective you need a #2 WR to be at least a threat...we dont have that at all.

Pettigrews supplying what we lack in the run game as well as production we should be getting from a #2 WR.

He's made alot of tough catches with people on him close, I'll give him that. He has 56 targets though with 38 completions. I guess I can't call him good this year because of the run blocking.

guys try to turn Pettigrew into the whipping boy for some reason....the kid does his job and is developing into a real good TE.

Charlie Sanders raves about him....I think Charlie knows a bit about the position.

I agree with Best out and Burleson doing poorly, Pettigrew is being asked to do more than what he should given his skillset. However, being a 1st round pick my expectations are higher for him to do that when called upon. Plus pick it up in the run blokcing though run blocking there are much bigger problems than Pettigrew right now.

his work as a blocker suffers because he is asked to do so much in the passing game...with no real threat at #2 WR.

and now with Best out it increases even more as a receiver.

I got witten on my fantasy team. He's been tearing up.

I got Hernandez and Pettigrew...in a ppr league and can't complain.

I just feel like you guys knit pick to much sometimes.

The guy has the 2nd most catches for his position over 2 years and you want more seperation.

People arent happy about Brady Hokes presser after a loss to MSU.

Jim Leyland put the best closer of the 2011 baseball season in to start the 8th inning...

Look Pettigrew is really your 2nd best weapon at this point. Nate Burleson is a scrub, always has been, always will be. Jahvid Best is as fragile as they come and beyond Calvin, there is really nothing else. Be excited he's playing as well as he is. Been a long time since Detroit has had a "franchise" TE. He's very young, and playing at an all pro level.

This thread went sideways fast. The bottom line is Pettigrew is a good TE and Stafford has a hard time hitting him in the hands inside of 15 yards. That is the problem!

I had fred davis for witten's bye week. But I have 4wr's that are so similar and it sucks picking which to start. Almost makes me miss when they each had bye weeks.

lol...Im just sick of defending the poor kid , ive been doing it for 3 years now.

maybe because I had him locked in at 20 in my mock that year and others on here wanted Oher or Mack.

I just think the kid does a legit job and there are bigger gimps to fry on this roster.

It's unfortunate Pettigrew is asked to do so much because of Burleson and Bests health problems. Believe me I have 10X more the problem with Burleson and Bests health/tough yard running ability. But somebody has to step up. The best bet is Pettigrew/Stafford because I can't count on Burleson, Oline or Bests health right now.

Aka Nate Burleson who Lions fans seemed to love so much. I don't understand where all of his love came from....

That is true you have been his biggest defender and he has proved you right. I was an Oher slappy and I will take 'Grew over him 10X out of 10.
