Warner has a point

I just feel like you guys knit pick to much sometimes.

The guy has the 2nd most catches for his position over 2 years and you want more seperation.

People arent happy about Brady Hokes presser after a loss to MSU.

Jim Leyland put the best closer of the 2011 baseball season in to start the 8th inning...

Look Pettigrew is really your 2nd best weapon at this point. Nate Burleson is a scrub, always has been, always will be. Jahvid Best is as fragile as they come and beyond Calvin, there is really nothing else. Be excited he's playing as well as he is. Been a long time since Detroit has had a "franchise" TE. He's very young, and playing at an all pro level.

lol...Im just sick of defending the poor kid , ive been doing it for 3 years now.

maybe because I had him locked in at 20 in my mock that year and others on here wanted Oher or Mack.

I just think the kid does a legit job and there are bigger gimps to fry on this roster.

He does alot of things very well and I'm glad he's a Lion. Separation is nitpicking but we need it because Burleson is a bum, Youngs a rookie and Best can't stay healthy or run the tough yards. They can't be counted on. Wishing Pettigrew improves is the best bet because he might be the only one, other than Young and Stafford capable of improving on this offense. Calvin is there already obvisouly. Pettigrew does alot of things to help this team win games.

I see where you're coming from. Guess I took it as doom n gloom like he wasn't that good because his seperation wasn't great.

Another question...do you guys really think Titus Young is going to be a very good NFL wr? I don't mean that sarcastically, it's a real question. I mean if he played for Minnesota would you have the same feelings about him or is it more hope than anything?

I heard somewhere drafting WRs can be somewhat of a crap shoot. If he busts we can always get Jerry on the horn in a couple of years.

I think he has speed and good hands. He has the ability to become a solid #2.

Pettigrew may have only 2 legit drops but he doesn't get enough separation for my liking. He's a good tight end but I just wish he were a little faster. And with Best out now, the 2nd main focus after Calvin is on Pettigrew because nobody needs to worry about a RB in the flat. Oline isn't helping out Staffords mechanics off his back foot/sidearm from time to time and Burleson and Young have disappeared for a few weeks now.

If he was faster he'd be a wide receiver. And Pettigrew has been awesome. And currently is one of the best TE's in today's game. Anyone who thinks he isn't is missing a few up top.

Young has shown some promise. Dallas game and Minnesota game he made some clutch catches that we wouldn't have won if he didn't make those catches. Good game against KC too after Lions were already dominating. He has promise but has disappeared the last 3 weeks. He's a rookie though so he gets 2 years before a true judgment is made. Promising so far and already as productive in 7 games(3 playing well) as Bryant Johsnon was all last season. Way more work to do.

He is a good tight end. He's really not that fast for a tight end though. Middle of the pack as far as tight ends. He can get separation other ways too. Better route running, working the zone better. I'm happy with Pettigrew but always looking for ways to improve and just noticed LBs have been pretty close by at times for some of his catches and incompletions.

Now, now. It's OK kiddoe. Everything is gonna work out fine. Don't beat yourself up over this little fella.

Pettigrew's problem isn't as much his hands as it is him securing the ball after he gets his hands on it. Too many times defenders are getting there hands in and knocking the ball away as he's tucking it away.

I agree. He's made alot of tough catches like that though. If only he had more separation this wouldn't happen as much.

pettigrew is the least of our problems...our WR's outside of cal have been non existent for a few weeks...and they have been having their opportunities also as teams have been bracketing calvin and making the other beat them...so far it hasn't happened unfortunately..titus and nate need to step up big time this week and for the future...

Agreed 100%. If the rookie and Burleson,Scheffler can't step up, option 2 would be Pettigrew getting more separation. Option 2 is more likely to happen.

how do you even show yourself in this thread after getting smacked like a beaten mule.

when you attempt to talk football you show you don't have a clue.

like you've been told...stay on the Tigers Board...you're in over your head here old man.

receptions don"t mean a thing....lol....that was absolute gold.

I dno't see a lot of the "We shoulda drafted Michael Oher" slappies anymore. Where'd they all go?

Titus>Cobb all day in my book. quick, great hands, and good route running. had the right read last week when everyone was bashing him for not going into the end zone.

The dropped passes thing always gets overblown. The best receivers usually end up dropping the most passes. They get more balls but they also drop more. Wes Welker lead the league in dropped passes last year with 13. Reggie Wayne was second with 11. Tony Gonzalez, Aaron Hernandez and Andre Johnson each had 1 less drop the Pettigrew. Pett had 8 drops last year. It happens to everyone.

Warner has actually been sorta bugging me lately though. He's seemed pretty "Holier than thou" in his judgement of QBs this year

And yes, I remember I called him a 1st ballot HOF'er

Maybe it's just a thing with that Rams team. Marshall Faulk is extremely annoying too, imo
