The Tigers, after taking two out of three vs both the blue jays and the a's last week, dropped 3 spots to #6, while the a's leapfrogged them, along with the d-backs, rangers, giants, and nats into the #2 slot...dlol...go figure.:hmm:
Yeah, the a's "had" an 8 game winning streak coming in to play the Tigers, but lost 2 of 3 and actually could have been swept, if it wasn't for Santiago's 12th inning triple just falling a few inches short of being a homer, and the previous batter Tuiasosopo being robbed of a BB by the HP ump, which would have made the score either 3-2 or 4-2...then the '13 season's gas can Villa-un-rreal pulling a Valverde, and giving up a walkoff solo homer to donaldson in the bottom of the 12th. :ugh:
So the a's IMO, should have been ranked #4 or #5 at most, while the Tigers should have either remained @ #3, or #4 IF ESPN's rankers felt that the giants @ 9-4, deserved to be ranked above the Tigers, which I would have no argument about. But they also ranked the cardinals, who have an identical record to the Tigers @ 7-5, one spot higher than them @ #5, from previously being ranked #14 last week, awarding the team a 9 spot rise in the rankings....WTF??
The royals, who are presently tied @ 7-5 with the Tigers atop the AL Central, moved up 4 spots to #13 after being ranked #17 last week. So why are they being bumped up several spots, while the Tigers were dropped by 3? They both had a 3-3 record when the Tigers were ranked #3 last week, but now that they have a winning record of 7-5, then only the Tigers deserve to be dropped? Makes no sense, soo...what would the Tigers have had to do last week...sweep both teams in order to maintain their #3 ranking???
