OSU will be #2 according To the experts, we win next week we're in, we lose we're in.

I wouldn't say it's 100%. We will be 9 or 10 this week. With a loss I could see us dropping out of the top 14.

Losing to O$U I doubt would drop MSU out of top 14. Nonetheless, IMO, Auburn should be #2. Beating a 1 compared to beating a un-ranked team who barely got by Akron and Connecticut..that's an easy decision. But the BCS is known for fucking shit up..

I don't really care about who is #2 but now we'll have to hear a week of bitching from the SEC about how they're going to get screwed if Auburn (who I think will lose to Missouri anyway) loses out to OSU. Funny how no one is talking about Oklahoma State even though they're sitting there with just 1 loss and playing as well as anyone. College football never changes, which is why most of the time I find better things to do with my Saturdays now.

As for whether we get into the Rose Bowl anyway if we lose to OSU. That is a good question. I'd say the chances are pretty good. In that scenario the BCS bids would likely be Pac 12 champ, OSU, Auburn/Missouri winner, Alabama, FSU, Okie State, NIU, UCF, and then 2 more at-larges with teams like MSU, Oregon, Clemson, and perhaps Baylor in the running there. The Pac 12 championship loser would have 3 losses. Oregon would not face another Pac 12 team obviously, Clemson may have screwed their chances last night. Baylor is about the only other possibility to fill that spot.

I'm not sure of the order of selection in the bowls but an Alabama sitting there as an at-large would be pretty attractive for any bowl game, however.

Well they don't look at only 1 week. Not sure why everyone is saying that Auburn should be ahead of OSU. They lost by 14 to a 3 loss team. What's their best win besides Alabama? 4 loss Texas Tech or 4 loss Georgia?? So basically they got a miracle win vs the #1 team and that automatically makes them better than an unbeaten OSU? The Buckeye's schedule hasn't been that great, but they took care of every team in front of them(so far).

I actually think Missouri has a better case than Auburn anway who needed 2 absolute miracles at home the past 2 weeks, and also at home only beat Wazzu by 7 and Mississippi State by 4. Missouri's only loss was in overtime to a 2 loss team and most of their wins were more comfortable.

Regardless of what one thinks of OSU, an undefeated Big Ten champ getting jumped by a one-loss SEC champ would set a bad precedent and is bad for all of us down the line.

Either way I think FSU rolls in the title game. But if they bring charges to Jameis Winston in the meantime, boy then it's gets interesting.

I'll tell you one thing....those BS pass interference penalties vs ND sure do suck right about now.

Agree but would we handle the pressure of being undefeated? In 2011 we were undefeated going into iowa and we got killed, we were the better football team that year. Not saying we would run the table bit things would have played out a little differently

Without those calls and we're probably ranked 6th behind FSU, OSU, and the SEC trio.

I'll take their SOS over O$U's any day.. 4th to 52nd. Not sure I call it a miracle win at 'Bama. If it doesn't happen, they could have still won in OT. They might have lost to a 3 loss team but LSU is still ranked..

I just think it's a joke Stanford is ranked higher than us. Lost to a garbage Utah team and lost to an average USC team. I like our chances against them if we face each other in the Rose Bowl (fingers crossed)

Is there a chance Auburn can catch O$U, assuming they both win? Anyway, i'll be rooting for you guys this one week..

actually their miracle win was two weeks earlier vs Georgia at home!

Right now it would appear probably not unless Auburn kills Missouri and OSU beats MSU and looks bad in doing so and that sways enough voters.

I think Missouri, who appears to be a steadier and more balanced team, beats Auburn next week, in which case the debate then turns to whether Missouri deserves to pass OSU.

Or FSU somehow loses to Duke or the Winston situation becomes an issue and MSU beats OSU and Auburn beats Missouri and Auburn-Alabama rematch for the title......

ESPN can lobby for Auburn all they want, they aren't passing Ohio State, and there is no way they would deny one of the top 3 revenue producing football programs and Urban Meyer a chance to play for the NC if they not only are 13-0, but 25-0 over the last two seasons. Auburn was substantially behing Ohio State in the BCS, there was a cushion there. And OSU is ahead in the coaches poll which is a component of the BCS. Don't forget that OSU is also playing a top ten team next week too.

It's a business and the top three biggest money schools are Bama, Ohio State, and Texas, those schools will always get the benefit of the doubt.

But, we have a good chance to beat OSU and then ASU in the Rose. 13-1 would be a great season! Could finish in the top 3 then too.
