The rump-Rangers, who I consider to be one of the most formidable teams that our Tigers may end up facing in the '12 postseason (should both teams clinch), have two (SS) games skedded in Cactus-League ST action. Their newly signed Japanese SP phee-nom, being the "whirling" Darvish has pitched in only two games thus far, getting rocked a bit in his second appearance. He apparently was not skedded in the first game vs the Brew Crew, the game now delayed due to rain in the bottom of the 4th....oops that game apparently just got the rainout ziggy too..wow.

Another game being (SS) Rockies vs @ Mariners is also being delayed, the Angel vs @ Dodgers being suspended in a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the 6th, and the Rockies' other (SS) game @ Padres was postponed entirely. I figured that Yu might pitch in the second (SS) game vs the Cubs but if Yu ain't starting, he isn't likely to pitch in this game either, in a 1-1 tie after 7 full...hmmm.

I think the Yanks became the team to beat when they revamped their starting rotation. That is assuming certain pieces don't start showing their age.

Not too thrilled about the possibility of the Tigers playing the Yankees yet again in the ALDS, for the second consecutive postseason, and in order to advance, if so, the Tigers will need to have beaten them for three ALDS in a row...

Pineda has lost almost 5 MPHs of his fastball and their whole team is on the wrong side of their primes except Granderson and Cano.

Just about the law of averages, not too much else. But the Yankees have had their beeyotch in the Twinks for the ALDS during the past 10 years or thereabouts, so maybe the Tigers really are their kryptonite.

The Angels might be pretty good.... Haren, Weaver, CJ Wilson, Santana, plus adding Puhols and Kendry Morales (maybe). They might be the best on paper.

Hopefully Mike Scioscia will waste a lot of outs with bunts as he proves how smart he is.

I think both west teams are good with speed and power lineups,
angels starting pitching goes 4 very good deep,
rangers imo a bit below questions with feliz starting, and seem to be on the fence with ogando starting/relieving, as well as how does yu darvish do in a 5 man and 162 game season, but might have better bullpen.
Yankees are the yankees, they can and usually do something at the trade deadline to fix a potential problem.
rays, redsox, hopefully rays squeezed out the sawx again.

If we play the yankees in the playoffs either team could sweep or it could go the full 7 games. recent past history is nice, but it's past history, jmo.
I worry more about rangers and angels for whatever reason,
and hope and pray our Tigers all stay healthy the whole year through October.
