Is it better for the Big Ten if OSU beat MSU this weekend and then lays an egg in the championship game or is it better for the conference if MSU beats OSU and both win their BCS Bowl games?

OSU winning it all is better for the conference, nobody is going to remember what we'd do in a non national title game. also, the SEC streak has to end

I agree with Sbee. For the B1G as a whole, it would be better for OSU to win the NC, and MSU to win a BCS bowl at the same time.

If we are just comparing OSU laying an egg in the NC to MSU and OSU both winning lesser BCS bowls, the latter is probably preferable. If OSU gets exposed in the NC game, it will hurt the rep of everyone and hurt next year's rankings. However if MSU and OSU both win and bring back as many players as they will, we could have two top 10 preseason teams to make the whole conference look good throughout the year.

I think FSU will kill OSU if they have Winston. Som it's better if MSU wins and wins the Rose Bowl and OSU wins the Orange Bowl against whoever they would play there.

Best for Big Ten: OSU wins it all, MSU wins the Rose Bowl. SEC claims their title streak is still in tact because OSU didn't have to beat the SEC champ, just like none of USC's championships really counted from a few years back.

Scenario I hope the most for: MSU beats OSU, then wins the Rose Bowl, OSU wins in their BCS game. FSU beats Auburn by 30 points and shuts up the SEC (for a few minutes).

Bad scenario: OSU beats MSU, FSU stomps OSU, Standford/ASU stomps MSU.

Good scenario for us, bad for college football: MSU beats OSU. Auburn slides into the championship game, Winston's status is such that he can't play and 5 other FSU players can't play for one reason or another, which the way the luck has gone for Auburn seems plausible, Auburn wins the championship.

Worst scenario possible for Big Ten and college football. MSU beats OSU. Both MSU and OSU get stomped in BCS games. Half of Florida State's team becomes ineligible before the Duke game and Duke pulls the upset. Auburn and Alabama rematch for the national championship.

I don't see why everyone is bringing up Auburn? They are going to get manhandled by Mizzou. If we beat OSU it'll be FSU and Mizzou in the championship game, unless somehow they aren't able to jump Bama. If Alabama somehow gets in the championship game I'm done with college football. That'd be an embarrassment.

I would agree that Missouri appears to be the more well-rounded team than Auburn. People are talking about Auburn more since there's the potential that they could jump OSU, however unlikely, even if both win.

Why nobody is talking about Oklahoma State is also a question. If they were to win big over OU like they've been doing against everyone of late, I don't see why they shouldn't be in the discussion of 1 loss teams.

Perception. Voters won't put a 1 loss Big 12 team in the NC over a 1 loss SEC team. Honestly, the SEC has earned if multiple teams have 1 loss. Just like voters wouldn't really put Mizzou/Auburn in over an unbeaten OSU, they aren't going to have Ok State jump the Mizzou/Auburn winner regardless of score. They'll just say that Oklahoma isn't really that good, while any close score in the SEC championship is because both teams are real contenders.

Don't underestimate the power of confirmation bias. Voters have already said Mizzou and Auburn are currently better than Oklahoma State, they aren't going to make themselves hypocrites by flipping that script when one of Mizzou/Auburn are adding another top 10 win to their resume.
