vote Cabrera? I am curious how much of it is Michigan hate, since both of the wankers are from Ohio

I read it in one of the stories, all I can remember is he voted Cabrera first for 2010 MVP.

Thanks for the info. Makes me feel better about it

I found this article explaining why he left him off his ballot.

http://news-herald.com/articles/2011/11/21/sports/nh4772249.txt

I read the reader's comments and one guys pointed out the number of plays affected. Using Jacoby Ellsbury for comparison, Justin has 969 PA compared to 729 PA for Jacoby. If you add fielding into the equation, you have 1123 for Jacoby and 1019 for Justin.

I don't see how anyone could dismiss a player who directly affected that many plays in a season. Yes, Jacoby played more many more games but he didn't have drastically more plays.

after further review of the MVP award and it's meaning, I decided it was the right thing for Verlander to win it. who was most valuable for winning their teams games? did Ellsbury win 24 games for Boston on his own? the answer is no, but Verlander pretty much won at least 20 of his wins by himself, by shutting down the opponent. I always thought the MVP is the best hitter with the best stats for the year, but have succumbed to deeper thinking of the term Most Valuable Player. with that said, they need to have a Player of the Year award and designate it to hitters only.

There is the Hank Aaron award but it is not voted on by the writers. It is a players and coaches vote.

but it's hardly even heard of, or publicized, they need to promote it more, but the name is well chosen.

Leave it as it is. Make the writers work to pick these players. Every once in a awhile an exception like Verlander demands the MVP award. He is the clear winner IMO.
