White Soxs & Tigers 8-31-16 Game 133

Need this one, I don't love the pitching matchup on Friday night

I've never been a fan of using the closer in a non-save situation even when tied. Don't blow this KRod

I know some people say that because of Jose Valverde and times that it doesn't work out, but if you don't use your closer in that situation you can never use him at home in a tie game.

Come on Alex it go. Nice pick!!!!

Tigers win !!!!!!

they should have walked Romine

Tough call. Walk Collins and face Kinsler, the leadoff hitter who was already 2-4.

I would have walked Collins but I can see why they would want to face him. I'm happy with the way it turned out!

I'd like to set up a double play if possible. Kinsler is a better hitter and he's not slow but I'd take my chances in that situation

Keep it up Tigers. Please don't let us all down by shitting the bed in Kansas City.

Webvideo Highlights of the Tigers 3 - 2 win over the whitesox.

Justin Verlander: Gave up the two home runs but he was on fire in the first three innings, and recovered well to go seven innings and allow a total of just three hits.

Ian Kinsler: Had a two-hit day and scored the tying run on J.D. Martinez?s RBI single.

JaCoby Jones: Had a two-double day, scoring the first run in the fifth and getting the ninth started with one off the right-center field wall.

Tigers offense: Had several baserunners but the double play killed almost every rally.

STATS AND INFO:
Ian Kinsler has back-to-back multi-hit games after going through a 19-game stretch without one.
During that time (Aug. 8-29), he hit just .125/.259/.264 with four doubles and two home runs.

J.D. Martinez is hitting .410/.454/.730(!) since coming back from his injury. He has 11 doubles and seven home runs in 26 games, not including Wednesday?s game.
