This happened on what was his second AB of the game vs @ mets, and according to ESPN's play-by-play record of the game, hector batted third in both the 3rd and 6th innings, before being lifted in the bottom of the 8th inning for RP matt lindstrom. Yeah, AL pitchers are not used to batting much, but still it makes him, de aza, the sux manager ventura, and his coaches look pretty damned stupid, especially after the HP ump has to walk to the sox' dugout to find out what the fuck was going on....lmao!!

Soo...how could he NOT be in the on-deck circle, and yet no one on the sux team in the dugout or their first/third base coaches happen to notice, especially their manager or hitting coach (although I could understand if it was Lloyd McClendon, who is always shown on camera during Tigers games blankly staring out onto the field, while leaning up against the dugout railing) de aza was "in the hole" and scheduled to bat after santiago, and even he didn't notice? >
