Why Denard Robinson will win the Heisman (article)

I hope your right, but after Saturday he looked more like a game manager than a Heisman Trophy winner. I have no doubt in my mind that he will have many big plays this season, but my concern is that Borges will put him in a box.

Secretly, I'm hoping Saturday was on purpose and they are waiting until next week to unleash the Nard-Dog.

yeah I agree with that... Hey nice jeep...

Not if they play offense like they did against WMU....Shoelace won't come close to last years records.

Probably not... But maybe the offense will get better as the season goes..

I took it to be more a comment on the scheme and play calling. DR won't be touching last year's stats because Borges prefers a balanced attack that involves all the players instead of relying on just one guy. Very difficult to think DR will come close to last year's rushing stats...but maybe he can improve his passing stats enough to be in the running - but passing stats will most likely be in favor of Luck or other more pure passers.

I'll take UM victories over a DR Heisman anyday, and a balanced attack will yield more B10 victories. What I'm loving is Borges mixing in his personal preferences with plays outside his comfort zone in order to make sure DR still impacts in a very dynamic way.

Michigan has done this for years we always open the Playbook during the ND game. Denard will look better this week.

Eh, you're right. I just read a bunch of other comments from him today and they seemed very negative and very "the sky is falling."

I agree, I would rather us have a balanced attack, so if Denard gets hurt our whole offense doesn't come to a screechng halt.

Absolutely no chance that Denard wins the heisman. To do that, we'd need to win at least 11 games....and that's not happening.

That's a good point, Monster, although I think based on the reputation Denard came in with, I don't think it's going to apply as much in his case.

but anyways, I don't think the offense is going to limit him as much as people think, and I don't think the WMU game is going to be representative of what we see all year long. So the people complaining that the offense was "boring" are eventually going to find something to be happy about.
