Wings back in 8th !!!

Scoreboard watching tonight.

Carolina @ Boston
Tampa Bay @ NYR
Islanders @ Washington

I think both NYI and TB can clinch berths with wins.

Lightning also lost. Sucks Boston got a point but not a bad night for the Wings.

I think Tampa clinches because Boston can only tie them

Boston - OTL (1 pt)
Tampa - loss
Islanders - win (OT)
Florida - Win

Standings - Wings tied with Boston for points, but the Wings have 1 more ROW than Boston as of today. If we drop out of 3rd place in the division, it is going to be 8th W.C. spot or nothing. The Islanders have 97 points and they should be the 7th W.C. spot. By the way, 14 teams have clinched a playoff berth, but not the Wings.

Yeah sadly last two spots will go to either the wings,Burins or flyers with Philadelphia and detroit controlling it's own destiny. If detroit wins at Boston it's over we are in. Lose that game then we would have to win the other two I think in regulation.

Oh west has been decide and Minnesota is in already at 87 points :/

Least we know Rangers will probably be resting guys. Plus they are real banged up.
Hope it does not cone to that game though.

Fun with the standings:
A win over Boston in regulation or overtime immediately gets us in (we would be guaranteed the tiebreaker over Boston).
A win over Boston in the shootout does NOT guarantee us a spot unless we beat Philly or take them to OT.

A win over Philly cannot guarantee anything, though a win in regulation or OT would significantly increase our odds.
A loss to Philly doesn't kick us out, but it would all but force the team to win at Boston.

Handle your business tonight at home against Philadelphia, and you put yourself in the driver's seat. It's that simple.

I wonder if they will start Howard in the back to back. If not I rather him go against Boston and play mrazek tonight.
