Wisc Game

What is up with teams losing by 20 and pressing walk ons? That's such a shitty move by the coaches in my opinion.

Both Belien and Gard now have done it.

Valentine is having one of the best seasons in the history of the Big Ten, period.

20-8-7 is unreal. And he does this while playing great defense too.

This year reminds me a lot of Evan turners last year

I said the exact same thing on another board the other day.

Turner averaged 20.4-9.2-6.0
DV right now 19.7-7.7-7.3

Very similar seasons and Valentine is trending up right now, should end up averaging 20+, he actually had a bad shooting night last night. Valentine is a better 3 pt shooter than Turner was, but Turner was unstoppable closer to the basket, he shot almost 52% from the field. I think their seasons are dead even right now and you won't find other seasons in Big Ten history comparable to those two. Evans swept the nation POY awards, Naismith, Wooden, AP, he won all of them.

Valentine will join Turner as the only other Big Ten player to finish in the top 5 in points(1), rebounds(4), and assists(1).

Best individual season for MSU player since Scott Skiles

27.4-4.4-6.5 his senior season, and this was without the 3 point line. That's tough to top.

and the only scorer on that team, everyone knew he was shooting. he was one of the more hated players in big ten history, bood mercilessly in Indiana/Purdue and every other gym

By far my favorite Scott Skiles story was during the pregame handshake of a game against Michigan Skiles looked at Antoine Joubert and told him "you can't check me fat boy" then just lit him up.

Well they also had Darryl Johnson averaging 16.6 ppg and Vernon Carr 13.8. It was a prolific 3 guard offense with Skiles being by far the highest, but not only scorer. They didn't score much inside or get much of anything from their bench, though.

Mostly I remember that season for "the clock" incident vs Kansas in the Sweet 16.
