If a person has a giant deformed club hand, and a tiny deformed undersized thumb, then yeah, it kind of looks like a mitten for a person like that.

Maybe a mitten for a space alien, although you'd think a space alien would have more of a large opposible thumb than a tiny one, and smaller more agile fingers rather than big clumbsy club fingers.

Maybe more like a mitten for a zombie.

Alhough I doubt zombies think about wearing mittens.

Apparently, there has been a nuclear accident in Wisconsin and they are doing this to prepare future generations. "See, even the state of Wisconsin is deformed. Don't feel bad."
