With the top 10 pick in the draft...

Who do you take in the top 10?

  • A QB....Jared Goff might be the top qb avail

    Votes: 2 9.1%
  • A LT....our oline blows. Move Reiff to RT. Ronnie Stanley.

    Votes: 14 63.6%
  • DT/DE Robert Nkemdiche. Our dline sucks now that we have no elite talent on it.

    Votes: 6 27.3%
  • A TE. We have needs everywhere....but we wouldnt be the lions if we didnt pick a TE in the top 10.

    Votes: 0 0.0%
  • WR. Laquan Treadwell is a stud. Calvin is a shell.

Normally I'd say WR because we need one but we'd still have same QB.

Were stuck in staffords contract for atleast a couple more years. As much as id love to blow it all up and start over were stuck with him. Ill go LT to try to make it bearbale while we have Stafford. Treadwell would be my favorite option to have on the team. If we could find a way to move calvin and his salary id be pumped to get him.

That DT Nkemdiche, or whatever his name is. Top 10 pick in 2nd round, an olinemen, round 3 a qb

Treadwell is a beast, but coming off of a terrible injury

so many holes to fill, so few picks.

if he is still around at that point, I would use one of the Comp picks to snag up Travis Wilson, QB-Utah. If Utah keeps winning though, and his accuracy continues to improve, he probably goes in R1...just basing this choice off of pre/early season draft position data. tall, mobile, tough...and appears to be improving his accuracy.

But if Bosa or Nkemdiche are available in R1, I don't see how the Lions can afford to pass on one of them. there just aren't any LTs that are showing dominance yet...but season is still so early, hard to say for sure.

If it's not the 1st, a QB HAS to be taken. Stafford isn't the guy, period.

A solid offensive line to protect the new guy might be a good idea. I'm just so sick of drafting offensive players in the 1st, i think we should build the trenches..again

Give me the LT

Drafting a LT high does solve 3 problems.

1. Hopefully, hes a great LT
2. Reiff moves to the RT spot.....where he seems to be a better fit.
3. Gives us really good OL depth. Lucas at LT and Waddle at RT where they are great depth..... but either is blah as a starter.

LT, DE, CB, QB.......all could be options in the 1st round.

Jack Conklin from MSU is a great LT. He will be up there in the conversation......but will probably be a late 1st....early 2nd guy. If we go DE and follow that up with Conklin that would be a great first 2 rounds.

We need O line, but we need defense more than anything and here's why. By my count, last night we started only 2 players on defense that we drafted. 2! That means we had 9 Free Agents starting for our D. That is unsustainable and a recipe for disaster both in terms of play and in terms of salary cap.

I know our hapless drafting has been discussed to death, but this is the result, relying entirely on free agents to field a defense is nuts. It means we are paying over market value for most positions. It means we are going to experience higher turnover and less continuity. It means we'll have to go into full rebuilding mode very soon.

You simply can't miss on so many draft picks year in and year out and expect to compete on a regular basis. We get 2-3 players out of each draft that contribute if we're lucky, the teams we are competing with get 4 or 5 or more, that's a massive difference.

I went LT. Waddle and Reiff got beat time and time again last night. They couldn't seal the edge and that caused Stafford to step up in the pocket with happy feet and lock his eyes on WRs, it caused him to take lots of hits, and it basically stopped us from running or stretching the field.

Not sure there is a top ten worthy OL in this draft, but that's kind of a different issue. We've got to fix this OL. Add all the weapons you want to the offense, and they aren't going to make a difference if the line stinks.

This was why Lewan made too much sense for the Lions in the 2014 draft. Drafting him would have strengthened LT, RT (by moving Reiff over), and given us solid depth at OT. It was a no brainer. Instead, we went with the ever so logical pass dropping TE as our pick. Mayhew is allergic to making obvious moves to improve and instead tries to be the smartest guy in the room. I wish there was a auto-draft feature that we could enable for this team. I guarantee that we'd be worlds better if we just took the safe, consensus picks for a couple straight drafts.

Lewan was my #1 choice last year. Is he playing good for the Titans?
