Get StartedRead it somewhere but heard he may go to the Phillies for Blanton
Phillies want to reduce payroll and have offered Blanton - his 8.5M contract remaining.
You can bet the Tigers won't go there. Gotta' believe our team payroll is maxed out for April and May at-least.
Also hard to believe Dombrowski will move Worth, being Santiago is no spring chicken anymore and moving Worth leaves a play-anywhere depth hole, should Ramon get injured.
What's nice about our team is the abundance of depth -- everywhere except the catcher position. Avila needs to stay relatively healthy and avoid any 60 day DL-stints.
Tigers will likely roll with Below, Smyly, Oliver and Turner at the #5 rotation spot all season.
Now, if it meant Brandon was part of the deal. I would jump in a heartbeat.
Ignoring the fact that ChucKy ChecKswing is a 5-10 guy, I doubt that even a semi-pro baseball team could be swayed into trading with the Tigers for a package deal that included him.
Including the Tigers eating his contact, to boot. In fact, should ChucKy be given the D-Finger-A ziggy again, I would be very surprised if any MLB team would be willing to snatch him up, unless all of their regular and backup 3B and 2B-men were killed in a freak accident or they were all DLed for most or all of the entire regular season.
That posted, and I might be all wrong, but with Miggy's face recently being mauled by that bad-hop baseball, I think the Tigers might now be more injury-skittish, and as a result, inclined to retain Chucky on the roster, at least for the first month or two of the upcoming season.
How bad off is Philly for Brandon Inge to become an option? Holy shit.
