Young question....why did DD keep him, and why does Leyland keep batting him 5th.

1. They don't have a viable replacement within the organization
2. The guys that bat behind him are usually just as bad, or worse, at the plate (based on this season)

#6 = .193 BAVG .276 OBP .320 SLG .596 OPS (primarily Avila)

#7 = .282 BAVG .342 OBP .442 SLG .784 OPS (primarily Peralta)

#8 = .256 BAVG .318 OBP .375 SLG .693 OPS (a mix)

#9 = .183 BAVG .261 OBP .266 SLG .527 OPS (a mix)
