A Sam Webb post from Wednesday....
Lets play the "what if" game...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What if a so-called insider continuously made up recruiting info and passed it off as fact, but fans continued to lend credence to it by reading it, believing it, and propagating it across the internet as fact?
What if the latest completely fabricated, concocted piece of drivel had Michigan dropping a recruit because of his admittedly appalling, but also adolescent tweets?
What if in highlighting that bad judgment by said recruit in a ridiculous attempt to buttress the counterfeit report, the ire of the coach of one of the most prestigious programs in the country was raised?
What if said coach thought that (your favorite college program) was the source of that false info?
What if down the line that limits (your favorite college program's) ability to recruit that prestigious school?
Would that finally convince people to turn their nose up at garbage when the stench is unmistakable?
If the answer to the final question is yes, then in my opinion the potential price paid might well be worth it.
By the way... the above scenario is based on a true story.
Simple request from one friend to all of you... when you see BS like that which I've described above, and you know it's BS... call it what it is! Don't let it proliferate unchecked... or worse... lend credence to it. If you do, you may actually hurt the program that you only want to support.
