His suspension is ending. He is one of the best kickers in the league. We need a kicker. He got suspended for DUI. I don't see the problem.

Edit: Not for DUI, but for drinking alcohol. He had previously been suspended for DUI a few years back.

I say go get him. He didn't punch a woman or beat a kid with a stick.

The guy had some wobbly pops. Nothing more. Should he have done it? No, not knowing he might test for it and was prohibited from drinking... but I don't think we should ignore a solid kicker, maybe the best in the game, when we need stability at the position over some jello shots or whatever he was doing?

could be wrong....but I think hes too the point where 1 more incident and hes gone for atleast a year. risky situation to say the least.

It wouldn't be risky for the Lions, if he fails another test cut him and bring in another kicker like they did last week.

He really had issues with distance as of late. Dont forget the light air in Denver helped him . He didnt kick very well in preseason. But of Henerey continues to miss kicks then you can make the move.

Risky? What's the worst that could happen? He pulls a Bironas and we resign Henery.

So we'd be in a cant lose situation.

So what's more risky, signing a great kicker that could be suspended anytime or a kicker that cant make a kick?

When I posted this, I literally meant sign him that day. To play vs. Bills. Oh well.

I had forgotten that the Lions signed him as an UDFA in '06. Obviously with Hanson he wasn't staying..
