Snap counts are out, Broyles was in for 6 out of 70 snaps, meanwhile both Ross and Fuller had 62 snaps each. If he can't get playing time with CJ and Ebron (and Fauria) out, I'm not sure what purpose he serves on this team.

Might as well get TJ Jones out there imo, he can handle 6 snaps a game. When is the trade deadline? Broyles isn't being used here so it'd be hard to think that the Lions wouldn't let him go for next to nothing. Turn him loose

Depth if Ross gets hurt. Both punt returns(maybe Tate though) and slot. Fuller will always play outside over Broyles. And you can't use Ebron the whole time in the slot. You'd give Broyles 15 snaps or so at least.

TJ Jones would be depth for Ross. Broyles isn't being used as depth for shit. When we weren't running 3 wide yesterday, they were using 2 TE sets with Mr. Can't catch thompson.

Of course he is, he's not even being used when the Lions could definitely use a fresh body out there. Guessing he will be used more next week. Hopefully anyway.

Broyles is a better slot option than joique, pettigrew, and thompson. It isn't only preseason he has looked capable. It wasn't much his rookie year but he showed he can make plays in limited games. And in the preseason he looked like the same player. I wonder if he doesn't look very good in practice because his game is more about smarts and finding open zones with nice hands. I don't think he's a game breaker but he is someone you have to look for on third down.

Then why isn't he playing? You have a take on that?

I'd say try him out at Punt Returner. If he can catch and call a fair catch he's already equivalent to Ross. Plus, isn't this kid suppose to have some speed? I'm not sure because he never gets a chance to demonstrate it.
