Wow that's a large ball boy. He makes Prince Fielder look small.

Verlander might as well hit Aybar with 1B open.

So what happened to Below? Did I miss something? Is he on the DL?

It's so he can go further in games. Not many other pitchers can then throw 100 at 120+ pitches in. The problem is when you miss with your location like the Trout HR, hitters aren't going to miss it whereas you may be able to sneak it by them if it's 97.

The 65-96 Angels logo was really bad.

Ever since the all-star game he doesn't seem to be the same pitcher.

Verlander isn't fooling anyone with these low 90 fastballs in the first inning.

Tigers vs. angels Game Thread Sept. 8

I doubt he had a sore quad. The Tigers are famous for under performing players coming up with injuries and going on the DL. This is the same team that put Willis on the DL for anxiety. Raburn has a history of poor first halves and great second halves. Might as well see if he can do something...

He's a career .296/346/491/837 hitter in the second half. (641 OPS career 1st half) Including a 967 OPS in 2011, 900 in 2010, 933 in 2009, and 839 in 2007. You got it backwards. He had one season with a bad second half.

Raburn hasn't been in the lineup since July 29th. I highly doubt he's a cancer in the clubhouse. Raburn has a history of being good in the second half. It's not like Boesch or anyone else is better.

Do you want Leyland back for 2013?

Dombrowski has done great turning minor league talent into major league talent. Cabrera, Jackson, Verlander, Scherzer, Fister, Avila were all brought over through minor league talent, not too mention former Tigers such as Carlos Guillen. Dombrowski's downfall was contracts. Locking players...

Do you want Leyland back for 2013?

Among Tiger managers with at least one full season, Leyland's winning percentage ranks 9th all time in Tigers history. His 592 wins ranks 3rd all time. Sparky Anderson through 7 seasons had 1 playoff appearance, 1 World Series, and 2 90 win seasons. Leyland has 2 playoff appearance, 1...

People need to come back in off the ledge over 1 game.

I'm sure it makes White Sox fans feel better that they can beat Minnesota but are 4-10 against the team they are fighting for the division. FWIW the White Sox are 4-8 against the Royals.

    Delmon Young

Peralta is a 2.9 WAR, Avila 2.0, Young 0.1. You're comparing a DH to a catcher and a SS. Young is more below average relative to his position than Peralta and Avila are relative to their positions.

    That's how you do it

What's also ironic is Cleveland blew an opportunity late to take a 2 run lead when they had a runner on 3B with less than 2 outs.

At this time last year, the Tigers were 73-61. They're 1 game off their pace from last year.
