2016 Draft- Who ya got?

Tony I have to disagree with your film evaluation, the guy was a disrupter in the middle of that line all game. You are not going to post a lot of highlight real plays from the nose but he was consistently collapsing the pocket and getting pressure. As for him flying under the radar...Both right on the money. He's risen into the top 20 on many boards only recently and is being compared by many to Mo Wilkerson. With the late rise, you have to at least consider the Lions were maybe originally scouting him as a day two pick rather than a day one. I still think he is in play for the Lions in the first round. Now Jeremiah has us taking MegaQuon and like I said on my original post if value falls you have to grab it. If we can go from CJ to Treadwell that certainly cushions the blow.

Like i said...I only watched 2 minutes and change on the video. I didn't like what i saw but watching only 2+ mins isn't fair to the kid. I still don't want him because the DT position has some nice players this year and i think we can grab one in the later rds.

My guy is Treadwell now too.....for now ..ha

This is more of a "highlight" video on him. Hes definitely a late small school riser getting a late push from the so-called experts. There will definitely be the "you only played 1 decent school and you didn't fair very well talk. But as far as measurable go...you get a kid like that in the combine and hes 6'3'' 325 lbs and has feet...teams start to drool over potential. Im not high on a DT in the 1st rd this year....need a high impact guy at WR or DE imo.

Small school talk has never bugged me. If you can play ball, thats good enough. Those highlights were a little better. Still dont want him at 16 tho...uhuh. Give me Treadwell all day

Way too much work to do up front. You took your "WR" a couple years ago with Ebron. Don't need all-world WRs to win a Super Bowl, you can get it done with a solid defense and, god forbid, a QB that elevates the play of the others around him.

Drafting Treadwell would be a HUGE mis-step for this franchise.

I think depending on free agency we get a burner in the 3rd or 4th round. Spend the first couple of picks on the oline or dline. I am ok with going into the season with Tate as the #1 and getting a deep threat in free agency or the draft. Assuming CJ does not come back

Fine with me. No more weapon crap in the 1st round. Time to do this the right way.

Drafting CJs potential successor isn't a bad idea though. Our WR corp is a joke. Our #2 right now is TJ fucking Jones lol. Golden Tate is praying for help. Ebron has improved but he's a TE....he's not a #2 WR. Treadwell is the #1 guy coming out of college in most eyes with Coleman breathing down his neck. This team needs help everywhere and it's next to impossible to cover all bases but skipping on a #1 WR for the 3rd best CB, or the 3rd best OT, or even the 4th or 5th best DL might be an even bigger mistake for this team to make. I'm not totally against building up front with the 1st pick but if a guy like Treadwell (who has Alshon Jeffery type skills) is looking you in the face then you have to grab him.

No player is a bad pick unless he's worse than your other options. If Treadwell can come in and play like Jeffery, then take him and be happy. But if we're passing up on a Joe Staley or Muhammed Wilkerson for him, then it's a bad pick. I don't care if it's the 10th best player at his respective position, I just want the best player on the board. This team has enough holes to fill that it can't get cute trying to force any one position to be filled first.

Yep. Im leaning towards a LT round 1, then corner/mlb. No more offensive weapons needed. Maybe a big bruising back later in the draft, but I'm not even sure we need that. Zenner, Burton, and Winn should fill that role. I think a LT in round 1 is an absolute must though. I can't deny that the linebacker from Bama is my guy though, but he won't be available where we pick in round 2.

They've done BPA since Millen and Mayhew. Hasn't worked.

Time to find the BIGGEST need and fix it, instead of just drafting more guys for Stafford. To me, WR is not the biggest need. If you can find another guy to compliment Tate in FA, and then hope your QB can live up to expectations, you'll be fine.

Look at the WRs in the SB. Denver's got some good ones, Carolina had no one. They aren't show-stoppers. You can win with decent to good WRs.

Agree, Tate and another solid receiver is fine by me, and I think that will be more than a decent wr group. Just sign somebody, and let's move on from the thought of signing more offensive weapons. This off season is going to be critical, we can finally start building this team, or at least attempting to. Hopefully this new gm makes some smart roster moves. I don't think I've ever looked forward to FA and the draft more than I am this year.

Let's see what they do in FA before we actually start arguing about who to draft. Who knows, the Lions could come out and sign a bunch of our needs.

If the draft was today, I'd say the biggest need is on the OL. Either draft a LT and move Reiff or draft a RT and keep Reiff where he is. I really don't care. But, I have a strong feeling that we'll sign some mediocre OL and hope it works out. That sucks, but we're the Lions. It happens every year.

I want Ragland, with Tulloch gone, Whitehead pretty much gone, and the uncertainty of what we'll see from Levy next year, I think LB might be our biggest need.

Whitehead reportedly returning to Lions per Ian Rapoport on Twitter
