2020 Dem candidate

For clarity sake is it ok to talk sports on the political boards I'm hoping yes but I know never to talk politics on the sport team boards just want to make sure. I think trump will not win MI and WI again, it'll come down to PA, FL and OH

Nobody is going to be offended by anybody mocking the Lions - no statement could be less controversial, anywhere.

cool so Lions are fair game anywhere. excellent. Roger Goodell says 4 pre seasons games aren't necessary. The Lions said neither are the regular season 16.

That?s funny.

Being a Lions fan is like having a special-needs sibling.

You love them, but you know things are never going to get better.

Lions: One playoff win since Ike was president. Only team to have a player die on the field during a game. Another one nearly did. Another player in a wheelchair. Another all-pro lineman run over by a truck while he was cutting his front yard. A promising head coach died of a heart attack while...cutting his grass. A first-round draft pick bust killing three teens with his car while legally drunk.

This franchise is cursed.

I remember all except the coach that died cutting his grass and the guy that killed 3 teenagers.

Don McCafferty and Reggie Rogers, respectively.

I didn't remember either of them. I'm surprised I didn't remember Rogers since it really wasn't THAT long ago. I googled both of them...apparently Rogers died of a drug overdose not too long ago.

As it relates to Michigan, the Lions actually don?t have exclusive ownership.

On the West Coast a lot of people are Bears fans, or heading north Packer fans, and in the UP I think there are more Packer or Minnesota Vikings fans than Lions fans.

So any Democrats vying for the nomination wanting to win favor by acknowledging the favorite NFL football team should keep in mind where in the state they are.

See how I started with the off topic trend and then turned the discussion back on topic?

Few things annoy me more than politicans that are convenient fans of college and pro teams where they can't name one player or significant fact about them.

Here you go.

As we can see both the Bears and Packers are represented as the favorite team in parts of Michigan, although I still contend that the Vikings reign in the most furthest north and west part of the upper peninsula.

Bernie doesn't.

SD = "Sanders Democrat?"

Was he claiming to be a fan, or did someone just hand him a hat before the speech?

They say a picture paints 1000 words, but? I don?t think a person can figure that out from the picture.

everybody knows he's from Brooklyn and has lived in Vermont most of his adult life.

most people realize when traveling politicians/musicians/etc. come to their town, they all say how great it is... doesn't matter.

I guess it would be an issue - like you were saying - if he claimed to be a big fan of one of the Boston or NY teams, or the University of Vermont, but did know a single player.

That was byco who posted that.

I recommended that the candidates know the fan map of Michigan before applauding an NFL team.

Applauding a team they don?t care about to garner favorite is something that I just expect politicians will do.

Who would put on a hat that someone-anyone handed to them? Maybe someone told Bern that SD = Socialist Democrat.

See human beings are still somewhat tribal, and like people that associate with their tribe. so someone looking to have a positive experience with that tribe might go along with some harmless show of practicing one of their customs while visiting

like Trump putting on Winston Churchill's hat in Merry Old England yesterday, and looking even dopier than Winston Churchill when he did.
