I'm in the same boat as you, but it's a pipe dream, unfortunately. Vivek dropped out, his little piece of the pie all went to Trump. Now DeSantis drops out, it's a safe assumption that the vast majority of his people will walk on over to Trump as well.

Somehow the Republican Party is all lining up to endorse the Donald again...

But really he's a typical basic rich New Yorker, going to Broadway shows, watching the ball drop on NYE, not wanting to see or talk to the poors when he's trying to enjoy a nice steak dinner, etc. etc.

EDIT: to add... and that's fine. He's also terrible, but more genuine than Biden at least, and probably won't get us into any more wars, and may actually try to get us out of one or more of the current ones Sleepy Joe is taking us into...

hopefully he lets the FTC keep taking on monopolies. That's the only good thing to come out of Biden's presidency, and the only thing he's done better than Trump. Not that either of them actually seem to know shit about policy.

Unlike sorry sacks like yourself, I don't have heroes in politics or pop culture. It's funny though, that a guy who is a full throated fan boy fluffer for the least accomplished capitalist anti-capitalist politician in the history of politics thinks he can ridicule others for who they support. I'm talking about your literal hero Bernie Sanders - the socialist icon who has gotten filthy rich selling garbage to morons like you. Remember how giddy you were about going to a Sanders rally? "it's gonna be so great" was what you said going in. Then the next day lamenting that you were the only person who brought beer.

Oh and remember that you listed the number of times he's been re-elected as one of his "accomplishments" (his only one, actually). Congress is like 80% career politicians, if getting re-elected in the People's Republic of Vermont, one of the smallest, whitest, meaningless states in the Union is an accomplishment, you need to set the bar higher. What was his next biggest accomplishment? Unsuccessfully advocating for worse outcomes for everyone through Medicare for all? Dude's on a roll...

Anyway, DeSantis is still Governor of Florida and I'm sure he'll continue to push back against the LGBTQ religion and it's agenda. I doubt it will matter by the NJ primary but if I end up voting, I'll probably vote for Trump since I'd take him over Haley any day of the week. Regardless of the outcome, we can look forward to 2028 for Ron to make another run at it. I wonder if Sanders will have kept his string of "accomplishments" alive by then.

A bit of advice, when your support of someone is based on their hatred and targeting of a minority group, you might just be the bad guy.

I don't live in Florida but anyone who doesn't see this as part of the bigger problem plaguing America isn't paying attention. If your attitude is 'so what if we're being forced to deny the truth, science and reality and our wives and children have to be less safe, as long as dudes that say they're women aren't getting their feelings hurt everything will be better' you've completely lost the plot.

A bit of advice, if you think this is about hatred or targeting minorities, you're not paying attention. No one hates these people and they aren't the ones being targeted. They're pushing an anti-truth, anti-science and anti-reality agenda and finally being told no for the first time in their lives and they don't like it. Too bad. The plain fact is, being honest and telling the truth is the far more humane and compassionate approach. Absolutely hilarious that on this one issue you're saying people need to follow the science. You people ignore the science when it comes to climate change, vaccines and anything else you just feel like being on the wrong side of, but when it comes to transgender people, suddenly you're talking about "the science".

The simple fact here is that you are not an expert on the subject and neither am I. You know who is an expert? The doctors, mental health professionals and others who deal with these people on a daily basis. They know the best course of treatment and what should and shouldn't be an option for each person that comes under their care.

But transgender people make you feel icky so even though they have nothing to do with your life in any way, they must be stopped from improving their lives because your feelings are more important than theirs.

I don't ignore the science regarding climate change or vaccines. I call out the pseudo science garbage your team pushes regarding COVID vaccines and anthropogenic catastrophic climate change. Just like I do with this anti-science trans agenda.

I reject the argument from authority, especially when it comes to kids and gender affirming care. If you're talking to a doctor or a mental health professional or anyone with a masters or PhD in gender studies who tells you a child knows they're actually the opposite sex and they should be given permanent, mutilating treatments I would argue that person is an activist or worse, a profiteering psychopath and definitely not a scientist.

Just look at what all the socialized health systems in Europe you love so much are doing with this garbage (gender affirming care and COVID vaccines). Do you think they're not following the science? No, they're following the science and not silencing opposing viewpoints to make a few bucks.
