2025 Tigers Spring Training

Tiger's Pitching:
Monday: Tarik Skubal (SP), Ty Madden vs. Blue Jays.
Tuesday: Kenta Maeda at Rays (Jack Flaherty in intrasquad game on backfields).
Wednesday: Reese Olson (SP), Matt Manning vs. Phillies.
Thursday: Off day.
Friday: Keider Montero (SP), Casey Mize vs. Orioles.

The Detroit Tigers' Matt Vierling and Parker Meadows are injured. Both have unknown return dates. It throws a wrench into who will play outfield and third base. Vierling was expected to be a major factor at 3B. There is more depth in the OF.
Who does this situation benefit? Andy Ibanez, Justyn-Henry Malloy, Wenceel Perez, Zach McKinstry and Jace Jung. And who doesn't it help? Spencer Torkelson.

3 Tigers who must make a good impression early in 2025.
After a mesmerizing run to the postseason in 2024, expectations are high in Detroit, with three Tigers in particular needing to make a good impression early on.

I’m so tired of the Detroit teams getting all sorts of injuries.
Probably cost the Lions a chance at the Super Bowl.
Wings are getting all banged up.
Pistons Lost Ivey
Now Tigers . Hopefully tigers can hang in there like the pistons have.
I’m worried about the wings.

MONDAY MUSINGS.
Totally Tigers

Today, it’s about quick hits – bits of news that catch my radar during the week as well as connecting the dots re ongoing stories. Even the quirky.
We’ve now had 2 full weeks to watch the entire team in Lakeland and there’s lots to see and report.
So let’s get to it! Here are the most interesting topics that hit my radar over the past week………..

I don't follow the Wings, so I can't speak to their injuries. However, the rest of the teams don't have any more than typical.

Wierd that Tork hasn't played since hitting that bomb last week. He's changed his swing with a toe tap and you'd think they'd want to get him some rhythm/confidence.

Wow Tork hit a home run, start

Tork is the odd man out. He's not playing 1B after Keith moved. Carp. will probably be mostly at DH. The only decision they have is Tork on ML team where he plays once maybe twice a week or AAA.

The guy hit 31 homers as a 23 year old. You're a fool if you don't exhaust every avenue to unlock that power. Clearly he's not adapting to the new age style of things. It's their job to figure out what works for him and they've failed just as bad as he has. I just have a feeling we're going to be like Houston with JD Martinez and give up on him, then he figures it out.

Blame whoever. I'm sure it's the fault of everyone. Just saying the team has already made a decision that he's the odd man out by signing Torres and moving Keith. Injuries can change that but heck Jones hit a HR yesterday and has an ST OPS of .931 maybe he should get the spot. People keep mentioning his 31 HR and seem to forget the .230 average and 170 strikeouts. He was barely average even with the 30 home runs.

OPS+ of 107 that year Only Greene, Carp and Meadows were better last year. This team is void of power.

107 just above average. Just like I said. I don't care of it was 4th best, or the best. And it followed that campaign with an 89 OPS+. Yay.
