26 rushing attempts for Robinson is to many!!

Yep, the coaches are going to do what they want...thankfully, they won't be listening to people on this board.

True, but the coaches can get fired just as easily as RR can. And running your QB straight into 300lb dudes when you don't have to is a good way to not win future games.

I'm not concerned; I think if you went up to Hoke & Borges and said "26 rushing attempts for Denard is too much" they would agree with you and say they are still working on the mix. Neither would be happy with it. Compare and contrast this to what RR did, where that seemed to be "the plan."

I just think we aren't as far along in terms of getting the RBs to shoulder the burden. They did seem to make some breakthroughs against EMU with Fitz & Smith, with the balance about 50/50 between Denard's carries and the RBs. It was a run-heavy game.

I'm assuming ND kinda set us back a week in terms of development since their run D was solid. They stuffed MSU on the ground last saturday, and did the same to us. We couldn't do what we planned to do, and had to win by any means necessary.

You are correct. No one would be arguing if Denard ran 28+ times and beat OSU. IMO EMU was already beat yet we were still running Denard.

Well I think many people are wrong. Ask yourself this - if Denard did get injured on his very last carry in the 4th quarter how many of these same posters would be screaming about how terrible it was hoke didn't put in Gardner?

LOL, that's your point? Ok, of course, if that happened, some people would be screaming about it.

there's always a risk, but we took it, and nothing happened. so who gives a shit?

the bottom line is, we obviously have a long way to go before we can move the ball consistently, so the more reps our first team gets now, the better. if we're that worried about injuries, we might as well disband the football team, and go play with dolls.

Is that what you want? You want to play with dolls?

The more reps at what? Denard improvising on plays and just running? That's stupid and you know it. There's no teaching what Denard does and it works just as good this year as it did last year. If they were concerned about getting them reps then they should have had denard throwing passes - you know - something he actually needs work at. If you're going to risk a players injury it better be worth it.

I'm not worried about injuries generally but when you're blowing out a team and all they have left is the potential to knock your QB out of a game - they're going to do it. And that's been seen time and time again. Teams get more aggressive, and mad, the more and more you blow them out.

So great, nothing happened. But that doesn't mean it was a dumb move. It was a dumb move and anyone saying it wasn't clearly has a screw loose.

But hey, we've gone from arguing about whether or not our entire defensive coaching staff was incompetent and why we don't have any talent - to arguing about playing a star player too long; so I call that an improvement.

what we argue about has no bearing on the program; and I don't know if this is really a valid argument. I'll say it AGAIN: the entire coaching staff is pretty much on the record saying they haven't been happy with our performances, and they don't want Denard to carry the ball this much. The fact that it happened in a 31-3 win is not really something to gripe about. Unless you have no friends and no life.

And when you say that I feel like you're missing my point completely. I don't care that we ran Denard to win. I care that we ran Denard when the game was out of hand. Denard doesn't need any more practice running the ball. If anything the RB's do.
