3 day Minicamp: Day 1 notes

It is a fact it was 41percent. Your judgment of carey is terrible Hughes. He played well. I stated who didn't. 4 and 12 doesn't mean everyone sucked

I'm not defending Hughes, don't get me wrong, but where are you finding these numbers?

were starting Carey....safety wasnt addressed. This is only slightly better than starting wendling last year and mayhew admittingly knocked himself for not adding a starting safety at anytime during the off season.

Resigning an injured Delmas that you dont know when hes ever going to play again doesnt really equate to "addressing the safety position."

GLover quinn averages 60 tackles 1 int and .6 ff a year.....going into his 6th year. Hes not that young....and saying hes a "stud" is a stretch. Hes definitely better than what we had....but we had nothing. Hes so good Houston let him walk so they could sign a 40 yr old Ed Reed for cheap.

They new delmas wasnt going to give you anything anytime soon when they resigned him....either that or they have the worst set of doctors the NFL has ever seen. Meaning they knew they were entering the season looking at Spievey Carey Wendling or Silva as a starter....no good.

Unreal....lol. Now Quin is 'kinda' old and not that good? Houston let him walk because he's average now? You're a fn beaut, you find anything to bash this team with nothing to back you up. Quin was a top notch FA Safety who was going to get good money wherever he went. Did you ever think the Texans couldnt afford Quin? Of course you didnt. You automatically think the Texans are brilliant for letting Quin walk and signing a much cheaper and much older Reed. Reading your drivel never gets old.

And you said it yourself. Carey is slightly better than Wendling starting. Wtf else do you want? Maybe they should have signed Goldson too? Naaaaah, you would have complained about that too. It never ends...lol.

Never said any of that. I said houston decided to sign a middle aged has been over resigning him.

A 40 year-old Ed Reed is not a "middle aged" has been. He is an old safety trying to take advantage and make more money while he can, since now he has won the Super Bowl.

Nope. Watch again. He did a good job. Wendling, Silva and Coleman blew. Your assesment of Carey blows.

i watched again....people threw all over our shitty defense....all year. With carey in....with carey out.....the secondary sucked.

You must have been drunk when you watched. He started the last 5 games.

2 picks by Carey vs Indy. Luck threw 44% in the game.
Aaron Rodgers didn't throw a TD for the first time since 2010. Rodgers 14/24 only 173 yards. This Aaron Rodgers in GB by the way.
Arizona couldn't move the ball or pass the ball all day they just got 2 picks 6s and 3 other short fields, (Logan muffed punt, Peterson push off of Calvin for pick)
Chicago the same 4 short fields(Bell fumble, 2 Stafford fumbles, Stafford pick) and a lucky screen pass to Bennett for 60 yards to beat the hobbled Delmas

Atlanta is the only 1 out of 5 teams that passed well due to Houston getting burnt by Roddy White twice and the screen pass to Julio Jones beating Green and Delmas. Not Carey's issue.

If you're not happy Carey is the 3rd safety, then you didn't actually watch and understand what happened.

Oh id be just fine if he was the 3rd safety....but thats my point....were going into the season with him being the 2nd safety.

Well, he is the backup. Who were they supposed to get? As pounted out before, Carey played ok when he needed to. You just expect every one of our players to be Probowlers. Step into reality for a second....other guys need to step up.....its the name of the game.

Delmas is here bud. I'm fine with Carey as the 2nd safety next to Quin if Delmas gets/stays hurt. We'll still have one good safety on the field and if Carey plays like he did the last 5 games, we'll have two good safeties on the field. Plus I think we'll have more talent at CB than Florence or Lacey and defintiely more pass rush given how poor the DE rush was in 2012.

It won' be like last year playing 4th-6th string safeties in Coleman, Silva and Wendling. If it that happens losing Delmas, Quin and Carey again for the majority of the year, that would be terrible luck.

Plus it's not a done deal Delmas won't be playing. Mid training camp, that's when I'll start worrying about Delmas. This year Mayhew did plenty to prepapre for losing Delmas. Like having a good safety still on the field in Quin. Carey's 5 games plus the way the draft board went puts Carey as the 3rd safety. I have no problem with that and gambling on Delmas one more year with Quin as insurance talent still on the field.
