Back on topic: Was the prospect that good or was the Rays farm that bad for him to be considered #1 in their system? Is he getting a bump just because of who he was traded for?
He is that good. He certainly would be the Tigers best prospect. Great defensive SS, who draws a walk and gets on base.
At 6'1" 180, he has the frame to fill out some and might add some pop. The only drawback to his game is his eye/hand coordination. Meaning he will be around a .250-.260 BAVG hitter. However, his OBP should be about .360.
