Bosox losing to the Yanks again in the second game of their "double-header" (which really aren't like doubleheaders used to be anymore) 3-0 but still is early in the game.

A loss would put TB, who won their game vs the Jays this afternoon into a tie for the WC spot...wowzers!!

Patriots also lost to the Bills in nearly the same manner as the Vikings did to the Lions, being up by three TDs to none, before Brady repeatedly was picked off...heh!!

:)

Bills ended a double-digit, 15 game home/road losing streak to the Pats, just as the Lions did with their losing streak of 13 games on the road vs the Vikings this afternoon, and now have won their first 3 games for the first time in 30 seasons, sooo...how about that so-called "any given Sunday"?!?

Couldn't happen to an any more deserving city... well, I guess Chicago would be as deserving too, but you know what I mean.

You have no idea how much I want the Rays to beat the Red Sox for the Wild Card. If there is a one game playoff at Tropicana Field, I will go to the game and root for the Red Sox to lose.

3 - 1 in the 5th inning. Man oh man, this is a great day, and will be even greater if the score stays with the Yankees on top.
and the cheatriots lost too.
no wonder nobody here is returning emails and letting my calls go to voice mail.
lol

Crap...they made a desperation comeback..4-3 now in the 7th.

4-4 top o' the 9th, Red Sux are now batting...Mo Rivera RP for the Yanx.

Update...RISP on third, but two outs for Boston, Scootaro IBBed.

Salted Ks, swinging, couldn't PH him with the possibility of xtras and Varitek already in the game.

Almost identical to the Red Sux, the Yanx have sac-ed a pinch-runner who replaced Tiex, who walked to start off the bottom of the 9th, to third with two outs..and Bard the Sux RP, just IBBed Montero, its now up to POSada...ooops, the Sux IBBed him as well, bases now loaded.

Bard taken out and the new Sux RP is Papsmear.

By the by, the Twinks avoided loss #99 this afternoon, beating the Tribe 6-4. Three games remain for the Twinks chances of losing 100.

Austin (who??) Romine is up to bat for the Yanx,...aaand he Ks, swinging, just like Salted had for the Red Sux.

Xtras coming up.

I'm not sureid rather play the Rays or the Red Soc but Boston missing the p,ayoffs is a good thing.

I agree. this game is going to the bottom of the 13th.

Can Boston just lose already so I can update the playoff order thread?

Ellsbury just hit a 3-run homer in the top of the 14th. who thinks that gets him the MVP? fuckin east coast assholes.

Ellsbury won't win it. How'd AGon do? I want Miggy to win the batting title.

As soon as the yankees brought in Proctor i just knew.

Oh well, Boston won it in the 14th, tomorrows another day, and they haven't clinched the WC yet.

Muaaaahaha the BlowSox fall into a tie w the Rays for the WC spot losing 6-3 to the Os, albeit a day and game later than I had hoped for. Now yes, I suppose that the Tigers "might" be better off facing them, instead of the Rays w/ HFA, but as the Yankees discovered to their great dismay, in '06...a team that comes in to the postseason that had not been playing all that well near the end of the regular season, may not exactly be the rollover and expose their bellies and necks easy kill, that they might over-confidently think that they are.

The Tigers' regular-season record vs their potential postseason opponents is mostly a winning one as well, 6-1 vs the Rays, 6-3 vs the Rangers, 4-3 vs the Yankees, all except for the Red Sox, winning only one game vs five losses. Yeah, the regular season records may not mean as much in the playoffs...but still, I think that the Red Sox are the one team that could give the Tigers the most trouble in a 5 game ALDS or 7 game ALCS series, but that is, of course, JMO.

Besides, I hate the Red Sox and their RSN fans' entitled arrogance, more than any other AL team, the Yankees and their fans are a distant second.
