Adam LaRoche walks away from $13 Million

I'd say it's 99% on Kenny Williams. He handled it poorly, and still hasn't offered a straight answer to anything about it. And now Reisnedorf (sp?) has put a gag on it. Sale's reaction alone is the most telling. He's the face of that franchise right now, and he's telling everyone that KW fucked this up and should be the one leaving the team. That's pretty hard to overlook.

from what I have heard there was nothing in his contract that said his kid was allowed to be in the clubhouse 24/7. I put this on whoever told him it was OK to begin with. Obviously it was a problem for some people or they would never had told him to "scale it back"

It wasn't 24/7. Don't be a dick. The kid didn't sleep at the clubhouse, and likely it was no different than what Vmart has done with Victor Jose his entire career, and likely many other players. And there has never been a peep said by a player about it before (or now as far as we know).

And just because he does not have a clause in his contract specifically allowing for it, he said there was a verbal agreement, which would still be legally binding if it went to the courts.

the kid had a locker in the clubhouse and did drills with the team. I can see how something like that could be become a problem.

Williams didn't say the kid couldn't spend time with his dad...he just told him to dial it back. I think the way it was told was "take it from 100% of the time to 50%"
