Is this what rolling coal is? Driving around and blasting filthy smoke into the air for no reason other than to create pollution?
That would get a 50 year jail sentence in California.

Get StartedI don't know what rolling coal is.
Whatever it is it sounds dumb.
There probably isn't a single California resident who's redneck enough to want to do that.
What do you think the argument is here?
Regarding the Republican/Conservative disdain for environmentalism, there seems to be two points they dismiss it on

I saw someone rollin' coal here in Durham once. Only once, so I don't think he's a local.
If anybody is bragging about that, they're probably just lying about really doing it.
Because it's their own money they're flushing down the toilet running devices and equipment and vehicles they don't need to run at the time.
Apparently, rollin' coal on Black Lives Matter protesters counts too.

racism and pollution go hand-in-hand.
In Houston, low income black and hispanic neighborhoods are right up next to the refineries & petro-chemical plants that spew known carcinogens into the air, and there was an article last year about the high rates of cancer and lung diseases prevalent in those communities.
I assume most white Conservatives would say "So? They CHOSE to live there. They can MOVE if they don't like it."
they don't let poor white people live in those neighborhoods?

You mean the conservative disdain for conservation?
We live in weird times.
The real crazies will dip into the Bible to justify their actions, as in their god gave them the Earth to do with as they please. Tough to argue with that...
the "JOBS AND PROFITS > environment" crowd likes to portray themselves as concerned with the bottom line, and "numbers guys," but taking them at their word, it turns out they are pretty bad at math.
as the saying goes, "privatize the profits, socialize the costs." They ignore the costs on human health, environmental cleanup costs, impacts on other (less well funded) industries, reductions in property values, etc.

It shouldn't be. Anti-environmentalism is bad theology.
"The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it."
This quote is probably on the 1st or 2nd page of the Bible depending on the print size and layout.
at least we put some shit on the surface of the Moon.
since it's not techtonically active and has no atmosphere, in theory our shit could be there for a really long time, undisturbed. maybe in a couple million years after we humans drive a mass extinction of 99% of species including ourselves, Hagfish or some other lowly bottom feeding organism will evolve into an intelligent spacefaring race, visit the Moon, and think "WHOA, WTF IS THIS SHIT!?!"
