The defense was like top 3 last year. Without jenkins they get no pressure on the qb at all.

Losing a top safety wasn't the greatest either.

top 5 but 18th against the run in 2010.

the trouble signs were there.

yeah. The rush defense was avg this year, that probably means a pass defense will be horrible next year.

They don't say anything about they drops, fumbles, or bad 3rd down defense.

Rodgers had 300yrds of offense and 2tds in one of his worst games of the year.

He also had an INT and a fumble. He deserves some fault.

Some fault, sure. To say he choked is excessive.

Qb play is the least of my worries for green bay.

I want a pass rusher, good corner/oline. And late round wr. Bring on hemmingway!

Maybe the Packers should have played Rodgers instead of Flynn for at least part of their final season game vs the Lions. Packers D played better in the second half, but Rodgers and his receivers weren't in sync very often, and they had the dropsies.

Wasn't worth resting him for 2 consecutive "bye weeks" if the end result is that team goes no further than a WC team like the Lions went in the playoffs, being one and done.

Maybe Flynn couldn't win vs the Giants either...but at any rate, now I really want to see what he can do as a FT starting QB next season. Gotta be an AFC team like for example, the Dolphins, Titans, or the sad-sack Browns who could use him as a starter. In the NFC, probably only the Redskins, although the Seahawks might take him over Tarvares Jackson, if he had a bad start to the season.

I do think he should have played some. But I don't see how it'd help the Wrs catch the ball.

And I've never hated a packer player more than ryan grant. He's so bad.

no tag for Flynn they say now , so he is free to shop around.

BTW the refs veered into Tim Donaghy territory. The down by contact fumble by Jennings? The blow to the head on Rodgers? Huh?

Well that sucks. Almost worse than the loss.

This shouldn't even need to be posted, but Flynn has obviously demonstrated that he deserves as much of a shot at being a team's starting QB, if not moar than Tebow, and he is blocked by Rodgers on the Packers depth chart.

The Packers could figure that Flynn is going to be a rising star in the NFL, and trade Rodgers instead, yanno...lol.

The team who gets him might wind up for example, with the next Scott Mitchell (Dolphins to Lions) or the next Brett Favre (Falcons to Packers) or much more likely someone who is somewhere in-between.

There was also that TERRIBLE spot when the game was still in contention and, thanks to the spot, the Packers were able to hold the Giants to a 3 and out. As I recall it was early in the 3rd, possibly Giants first drive in 3rd. Receiver caught the ball and was tackled having made the 1st down based on the TV line (I know that is not 100%) and the refs come running in from the sides marking him a full yard shorter for NO reason. Couldn't believe how blatant that was and thanks to TC having lost 1 challenge already due to refs failure to make proper call even with benefit of replay, he wasn't able to challenge the spot. Why TC had to even challenge that 1st time is beyond me, let alone the fact the ruling on the field stood.

Somebody please tell me there will be an investigation by the FBI or some other entity outside the NFL into the blatant bias, if not flat out cheating, that is the NFL refs. It sure seems like there are games the refs are trying to fix, and wouldn't put it past them that they have money on games or are being strong-armed by entitites who do. If it can happen in the NBA, it can happen in the NFL...especially in these economic times.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist but there is absolutely NO consistency at all when it comes to officiating games in the NFL anymore and certainly that is leading to the above conclusion. Goddell has come out and said they are looking into hiring full time referees but I don't know if that is going to help a problem that seems to stem from the rules themselves.

There are so many grey areas in the rule book. For example the Calvin Johnson catch has been called every which way since that incident including this year where we got the favorable call on a Nate Burleson catch in the endzone. Calls on hitting the QB seem to change from play to play let alone game to game. PIs and defensive (and offensive, feel for you Nate) are the same way. Holding penalties vary by team, NO Oline Zero holding penalties in 60 plus drop backs against the 9ers? Wow.

And the old adage that the game is fast and hard to officiate shouldn't come into play on spotting the ball and in instant replay with 10 plus slo-mo angles (I mean what is the point of replay if you get those calls wrong 50% of the time?). I could go on and on but when plays are called inconsistently and the inconsistencies fall in one teams favor over another conspiracies arise.

Two horrific calls that should be investigated. They were not even close.

The fumble WAS a fumble...clearly. it was first ruled a fumble but some jackmouth came sprinting over and overturned it and said he was down. Coughlin challenges and loses that one? Are you fn kidding me? The look on Coughlin's face was priceless. Looked like someone told him his dog of 20+ years just died. Felt for the guy.

The roughing the passer call was beyond the worse call i have ever seen. Osi was nowhere near Rodgers dome. Osi's helmet was off Rodgers left shoulder!! That's how bad that call was.

All in all, Goodell has to make the refs younger and make them fulltime refs. Pay these guys top dollar like MLB does. It's the only way. There's always going to be bias in sports reffing but they have to figure out a way to limit that. Those calls during the Giants/Packers game deserve a firing. I'm not even joking....

Too bad Osi can't fine the refs, but I wouldn't be surprised if Goodell fined him to show his support of the refs call because he is just that big of a douche. "Sorry Osi, they flagged you for that PF, so I gotta fine your ass." I know, I know, Goodell has puppets, er...people, under him who dish out the fines.

You can imagine what was going through the refs minds when Osi stripped AR without having touched him at all, "Oh fuck, I can't even make something up with that one. There goes my big payday if I don't start helping GB more!"
