Any speculation on any possible changes to the post season roster for the ALCS?

IMO if the spanks win tonight should strongly consider BB back on the Roster over Garcia since BB owns CC?

just a thought..

Marte back on also should be considered.

I think its pretty obvious BB has lost all favor with Jim. I would be surprised to see him on the roster.

Yeah hate to say it but BB should come back if it is the Yankees with possibly 4 games being played in that band box.

same here. he needs to be sent down to shorten his swing and make more contact. when he 1st came up he hit good (.345 at last years all-star break), but the AL pitchers adjusted to him, but he never readjusted to them.

You have to factor in your looking at 2 spots basically (Kelly and Garcia) is the only spot BB could be subbed in for. Kelly obviously is a coach favorite and presents some speed and defense and had a walk off hit in the ALDS. Garcia as well presents good speed and defense and had a clutch RBI as well as a stellar throw to nail CoCo at the plate in the ALDS.

I don't see Jim removing either of them in favor of BB. Even using a small sample of success against CC as a factor for a spot. He is still only 5 for 16 (.313) against CC with 1 HR and 2 RBI and oh yeah 8 K's so he has struck out in half of his career AB's against CC.

BB and CC will only face each other a max of eight times, more likely six. So he goes 2 for 6 and who knows when or where. Not worth the investment and the loss of Kelly (who can play five potential positions) or Garcia, who his obviously superior defensively.

Depending on the opponent, I think Smokes needs to carefully consider every possible scenario before making a final decision.

for some reason I thought the CC numbers were better. alright then never mind

Still .364 against the spanks.. yeah I know, Garcia/Kelly still better defensive options trumps it.. ok I tried. lol..

Only thing I like in BB's favor out of all of the choices he could come off the bench and hit a pinch hit homer... None of the other guys have that in my opinion.

I see no reason to insert BB into the series imo.

I'd think they'll add a reliever and take out a position player further reducing BB's chances.

I think BB makes it anyways but not at the cost of a right handed bat. Garcia will be on the roster.

I think Worth gets left off, we had absolutely no use for him in the ALDS, even will less in the ALCS, and Smokey will keep Kelly as utility guy/PR.

I don't think they add a bullpen arm simply because we have 6 starters, and of the starting 4, 2 are likely to go 7-8 easily.

Didn't Worth come in for JP and make a great defensive play in one of the first 2 games (I seem to remember a play that I thought JP would have had no chance at)

I'm not saying you put Worth on just for a defensive replacement but BB has been so bad at the plate and brings nothing defensively.

What BP arms do they have that they might consider?

Worth came in as a runner and stayed in. Not as a defensive replacement.

And really there is no BP arm I'd feel comfortable about adding. BV is a wreck again, and Marte is too big of an unknown. Downs is redundant because of Coke.

BB brings nothing, but he actually is a better option as a pinch hitter then Kelly or Worth.

Worth did make a great defensive play though? I kind of like Kelly as a PH....he seems to always come up big in big games.

Yes he did, but as Mitch pointed out, you don't need both Santiago (he said Sanchez but he meant Ramon) and Worth.

Therefore Worth is dead weight, at least with Boesch you have someone in a PH situation who could potentially do some damage.

And Boesch is quick enough you can even use him as a PR in place of someone like Delmon.

Thanks, I always seem to do that :hehe:

Who'd rather see BB DH instead of Delmon? I think I would..

Eh, I dunno.

Boesch probably would get more XBH, but he's just in such a funk it seems.

Of course Delmon swinging at pitches outside the left handed batters box is getting pretty old too, I'm sure I'd complain about both equally.

I'd rather see neither, but since we don't have that luxury...
