ALCS Post Season Roster changes speculation

Yes he did, but as Mitch pointed out, you don't need both Santiago (he said Sanchez but he meant Ramon) and Worth.

Therefore Worth is dead weight, at least with Boesch you have someone in a PH situation who could potentially do some damage.

And Boesch is quick enough you can even use him as a PR in place of someone like Delmon.

Worth is more valuable than Santiago. Santi sucks with the bat, on defense, and is slow. Worth provides defense and can pinch run. Santiago is completely useless to this team.

They just announced the roster for the ALCS is exactly the same as the ALDS no changes were made.

Great, Porcello stays on the bench and is absolutely worthless. I could see carrying an extra pitcher playing the NL, even a starter, but here its a waste. Either go with a short man or another position player.

Porcello actually has very decent numbers against several Yankee's so having him might not be to bad to be honest.

Brett Gardner - 1 for 9 - .111 AVG
Raul Ibanez - 0 for 6 - .000 AVG
Derek Jeter - 1 for 15 - .067 AVG
Russell Martin - 1 for 8 - .125 AVG
Curtis Granderson - 3 for 11 - .273 AVG
Alex Rodriguez - 2 for 7 - .286 AVG
Mark Teixeira - 4 for 16 - .250 AVG

And really you have to be prepared with that emergency starter.

1. If were in a long rain delay which as last year proved can happen.
2. You don't know how Max's shoulder is going to hold up really.
3. If you have a starter just get shellacked in the 1st couple innings which with their offense is known to happen at times.

All those reasons is why Porcello isn't a bad addition to the ALCS roster.

Yet neither is going to be used as a defensive replacement. Santiago is a long time vet, Worth spent the majority of the season with pine splinters in his ass or at AAA.

Worth is clearly the 25th man on this team.

yah, if Sherzer can only go 5 or 5.3 or so, it might be a good idea to have Porcello around.

Worth is better then Santiago.. no way RS makes that play Worth did in the hole at SS..

Then leave Smyly and get that short man or extra position player? Just like Worth and Santiago, having both Porcello and Smyly is redundant.

Really who would we add if we dropped Smyly or Porcello? BB?

I don't know but how about Downs then or another late inning RP. We don't need two long RP because Smokes won't use them later in games, only when our starters doesn't last 5. One should be sufficient.

Really has nothing to do with who is a little better then who.

Worth has a better glove, I'd say Ramon has the better bat, but it's more about nobody is going to drop a player who's been on the team as long as Santiago, who has team seniority, in favor of Worth, who's going to be in AAA again next April.

Yet he used Porcello as a 1 batter guy.

I still like the idea of both of them in the 'pen. I don't trust Marte, or Downs enough to want to see them in the middle to late innings.

If a starter gets in trouble early, or we have a rain delay, we have 2 bona fide starters waiting.

Here is a tweet from ESPN Stats.

"Potential Game 1 ALCS hero? Including playoffs, Delmon Young is 13-24 (.542 BA) career vs Pettitte (best BA among players with 20 PA)."

Rosters was already announced earlier today. Deadline I believe was 10:00am

No changes were made to the Tigers Roster.

I must have been on a secret spy assignment because I didn't know RP had pitched in a game.
