Anthony Barr Scouting Report

And out of curiosity, how many other people think of a former president and his proclivity to women when they hear the name Ha Ha Clinton-Dix?

Come on, I know it's not just me that sees old Bill smiling every time I hear it.

Every single time Haha Clinton-Dix cracks me up.

As far as barr is concerned though I just don't see him as a de. A lot like Avril but I am not sure he can even reach that level of size. As a olb he could probably learn the position and be decent but definitely more of a blitzer. He just struggles at the point of attack and hasn't shown great ability at shedding blockers in the run game or holding the point. As mentioned above he kind of gets washed out. The upside for the kid is there but just see him being better in a 3-4 olb role. To bad to cuz he has some skills.

Its crazy that we pick at 10 and you cant point to a single guy that would be a good 4-3 DE and we would get good value. This draft is very weird.....our best bet is a qb sides and some team is dumb enough to trade up for him. Im not big on the guy....but just projecting how things will play out and balancing need/value I think Lewan might be the pick. Id be pretty meh about it....but I would understand it....

I disagree. I don't think Lewan is really even in play. The Lions love affair with Watkins is going to cost us a bundle. I figure this year's first and second, and next year's first, but they will move up and take Watkins.

If they stay put, I figure it's either Clinton's Dicks, or Barr. Maybe Donald if the Fairley option wasn't a bluff and they do plan to say goodbye.

The Lions should trade down even if it means taking an early pick in next years draft. Trade back into the mid first and get an additional 1st next year. Those are the type of deals you can make for the long term success of your team. Go back 6-8 places, take Ha-Ha and get a future first round pick

Mayhew doesn't care about the future of the team....hes desperate and on his last legs if all this Watkins love fest stuff is true. No way he gives up value for the future....

I don't think Mayhew is on where near as close to the hot seat as many have reported. Ownership stopped him from firing Schwartz a year ago. Ownership gave Schwartz the extension.

Bill Jr. wants a winning team, but he's also got to understand that Mayhew hasn't been given his team yet.

I'm not saying he has a real long leash, but I doubt he's fired this year as long as he wins 6 games or more with a new coaching staff, and a new playbook. As a business owner, your expectations have to be spelled out, but they also have to be realistic.

The coaching change bought Mayhew a bit more time. I guess I am just struggling because I just don't see that impact player at a position of need around where we are drafting. This isn't a team with huge gaping holes like it has been. The holes we have aren't really strong places in this draft outside of WR where we can get a guy who will be a big upgrade. We need a DE but I don't see those in this draft for us. We need a wr and they are their but might not be a value pick at 10. A lb would be nice but for us there is one guy who could be their but may not really be a fit. CBs and safeties will be available but don't think they are looking that way. This draft is honestly stressful as an observer.
