Anyone else notice?

Had to look it up -- San Fran lost a fifth rounder and swapped 3rd rounders with Chicago in the Lance Briggs tampering case, 2008. Chicago moved up five spots. Lions won't get much, if anything, from Miami. A move-up would be nice. They pick 14th in the first round, so about 9 slots would be moved up depending on round, if they use the 2008 precedent. Briggs was all-pro in 2007.

Report: NFL to investigate deals made in negotiating period, requests phone records
Gino Bottero Mar 10 2015, 05:12PM
The NFL sent memos to several teams Tuesday, notifying them that they should hold onto their phone records because the league will be investigating agreements made during the three-day negotiating period, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

This news comes just a day after the league sent letters to all 32 teams, voicing its opposition to contract terms being released prior to the official start of the free agency period.

The end of the letter reads as follows: "At this time, the league office is beginning investigations into a number of reported agreements with clubs. Violations will be dealt with accordingly."

NFL free agents are permitted to officially sign with other teams beginning at 4 p.m. Tuesday, but can begin discussions with teams during a three-day negotiating period beginning Saturday.

Teams are not permitted to agree to contracts with players on other teams during this period.

They must be working on a new deal, so it's not the exact same as reported. Maybe he will get a few more million guaranteed so it's not the same.

So, with Miami voicing that they were "very confident" they would land Suh before free agency opened up, what would they do if the found Miami had contacted Suh before the legal tampering period started? If they did, swapping picks or even giving up a late round pick just would not cut it. Their first round pick, or more is the only way the Lions brass should be satisfied, imo.

Of course they are, to avoid being punished....severely. We have not heard shit about Suh since the NFL notified teams they'd be investigating negotiations announced before the legal tampering period. Something big is going to come from this.
