As the dust settles....

`Waaaaaay after`? It was 21-14 up until about 13 minutes in the game. Alllllll kinds of time left on the clock. Sure, the packers were winning but they weren't in full control

No I meant waaaaaay after 1991.

Just so much symbolism and metaphors in that play:

Onside kick cause were in control of the game
The ball is LYING there just waiting for the lions to snatch it up and take control!
And a guy named WINN completely whiffs on the ball and Loses.
...
and he is now known as George Loses

Front Page
Lions Winn!
Turn to A2
Fumbles ball away to Green Bay in loss

Ink, you think I have a future in this?

lol

did we ever even stop a Arod drive? goaline stand they could have easily kicked for 3. Lacy kept trying to fumble the ball away. Stopped a drive when Flynn was in. Other than that Rodgers pretty much did whatever he wanted. He was like +90% completion in the middle of the field.....and ihedigbo wondered why he was benched? lol. cmonn man.

I thought Dig got a bit of a raw deal there. He`s been solid all year for the most part...

same....not sure why you do that in that situation. Atleast not without even talking to the guy. Granted for whatever reason I kept seeing Ihedigbo manned up on Nelson....so im guessing they wanted to try a guy that was a little better in coverage. But atleast talk to the guy you started for 15 games before you bench him. A lot of weird shit going on yesterday if you ask me. Like the fact we blitzed arod like once. Caldwell threw a hissy fit when asked about that in the post gamer lol. Almost like we packed it in and was saving gameplan for the playoffs incase we meet again. Which is absolutely stupid if that's the case and you passed on a real chance to win your first division title in years and a 1st rd bye.

but was a weird gameplan for sure. vanilla offense im used to. Defensively we didn't play our game. Benching starters.....weird day.

yet the end result was the same...Lions lose on the road to GB and Stafford still hasn't beat a winning team on the road in his career.

maybe next week....or next year...or in 2016???

Or never the correct answer is never

I've tried to be a Stafford supporter. I really have. Just can't do it anymore. After watching guys like Rodgers and Big Ben drop passes in buckets with ease all night long with a division on the line...there just is no comparison. Yes he's had great comebacks, but looking back, especially this year, his sketchy play has often been the reason they've HAD to come back. Play well and put up the points in the first half so your D can dictate the flow of the game. He makes everything harder than it needs to be. This 0-16 road record against winning teams is beyond disturbing. This team will never take the next step with him as QB. He's like the pretty chubby girl that would be a total hottie if she lost a few pounds but just won't lay off the chocolate.

Wow I didn't intend to write a novel but there it is.

I'll have agree I've never been one to bash stafford too much but man he rally laid an egg yesterday in such a big game..he's just not quite in the upper class is he, that 4th down play where he had Tate open for a first down and promptly chucked 50 yards over everybody's head was like holy shit dude...Tate was like really matt what the fuck was that

Season was decent overall. Need to win a playoff game to make it a success.

Starting the season I thought we would be between 8-8 and 10-6. So beat expectations a bit.

However starting the season their schedule seemed a lot harder. Who would of thought the NFC south would of been so pathetic. Same could be said for Chicago. Who would of thought our third toughest game would be against a Stanton lead Cardinals. 4th toughest included being out coached by Jim Schwartz. It was nice to have a few bounces go our way, and have coaches make stupid decisions against us and cost themselves the game.

Defense ending up #2 was great. Unexpected but extremely fun to watch.

Going up against probably the hottest team in the league isn't ideal, but you need to beat tough teams to be a top team. Time to see if we deserve any respect or if we are a team that had a good season against bad teams. Playoffs are more fun being in them that is for sure.

Detroit would have to win in Dallas, in Seattle and in Green Bay (probably) to get to a Super Bowl.

At that point, nobody could say anything about how they got there.....not that they will.....just saying.

Oh I agree. If they run that gauntlet, no one will mention their relatively easy schedule. I think the lions have the toughest playoff road out of all of the teams.

If Carolina somehow makes it, people will still talk about their pathetic regular season.

agree with everything you said except being out coached by JS... we only lost that game because of our early season kicking game... we lost on a last second FG because we missed 5 FG's ourselves... i hardly call that being out coached by that douchenozzel

You're probably right..
I remember being frustrated with our offense that game, because at that time I still thought our offense was better than scoring 1 TD a game. come to find out that was actually an average performance.

I think we "only" missed three that game however. Plus 1 of the two TDs we scored was a defensive TD. So we didn't do much against that defense.

Welp we got all the excuses out of the way. Great defense that gets turnovers, moar weapons, like 18 qb coaches...and hes sucked this year more than ever. So now what?

It's scary to consider that this team might burn another 1st round pick on a skill position on offense. All because the QB doesn't make anyone better.

14 less turnovers and 3 more should be scoring drives this year. 4 more wins

He doesn't kick the field goals and he didn't get conservative in the redzone

When you have a top defense why not take offense?
