B1G coach of the year

If Hoke beats OSU I think he'll get it. But.....while he's done something special by making us as good as we are - we still haven't beaten anyone of significance besides ND. I'd settle for Nebraska but I want the OSU win a lot more than I want the Nebraska one.

I am not building a statue for him yet. But he has done more than we had ever dreamed with this team. That's why he should be a top nomination for big 10(12) coach of the year.

You must not have very interesting dreams.

Hungry, I have to disagree with you in regards to RR having 8 wins at this point. Under RR I believe we lose to either ND or NU. Thankfully we will never know for certain.

I disagree and agree with you at the same time.

We know it's not going to be Paterno.

By the way, isn't his name on one of the trophies? Any chance they change that?

I just think Hoke is as deserving as anyone. He convinced Mattison to come to Michigan. He coaches like a champion (not a screaming idiot). This team is playing sound fundamental defense, which is shocking. The offense is transitioning, and if everyone remembers the O under DickRod looked pathetic against B1G defenses last year. The team is a huge turn around from the last 3 years. What other B1G coach deserves it more?

the only tougher task out there, would be to clean up ohio's program and still compete.

no question that's tougher, and mainly because you look at their jackass AD - Gene Smith - and understand that anyone who could manage the task of cleaning that mess up, keeping the ignorant, unwashed masses (aka buckeye fans) happy, keeping the sleazy boosters at bay, and winning with integrity would be no ordinary human being. he's going to have NO help from his boss, and going to get nothing but unfair comparisons to Tressel - who compiled his record by cheating - from the rabble.

I don't even think PennSt is as tough of a job as that.

Hoke is the default winner this season. No real distinguishing BIG teams out there.

in theory, there should never be ANY B1G Coach of teh Year award, because it's impossible to know how a man's predecessor would've done that year if he still had the job.

For example, it may have simply been the will of a higher power, such as "God" that Michigan's defense would improve from around 105th in the nation to near enough 40th, or wherever they are, in yards allowed per game. Or it may have been random chance. in either case, it may have had nothing to do with coaching. And of course, because no one can say for certain what would happen in an alternate timeline, with different circumstances, no one should be rewarded for performance. They may not have had any effect on the game whatsoever.

This is all just basic logic, people!

If MSU doesn't blow one of their last two regular season games it'll be Dantonio, no doubt.

yeah, but for all we know, John L. Smith might've won those games. Who are you to say MSU has improved & played well such that Dantonio should receive the award? You don't know that. That's all I'm saying here. No one should ever get this award, because it's impossible to say for sure that the team performance is due to them, and some guy off the street couldn't do it better. Make sense? You get it yet?

It took me 3 days, but NOW I get it.

Everyone please take a moment to admire the sheer awesomeness that is me.

Yah, this is the thread I was referring to. Hoke needed to beat nebraska and ohio and he did it

Cool!
