Baseball, UCLA Super Regional

And it's their first WS appearance in 35 years. It's all good from where I sit.

I had to go to bed in the 8th inning. I knew if I stayed up any longer, I would have gotten no sleep and work would have sucked. I was hoping to wake up to good news. This is a good morning.

My son was at Ark-Ol Miss yesterday. 11,000 fans in the Arkansas Travelers' stadium.

I don't really follow college baseball, but I have been keeping an eye on this team the last couple weeks. Well done Blue

Well we did play at Then #19 Texas Tech from March 21-23, and that series did not go very well as we were smoked in all three games We did have leads in the last game but couldn’t hold. We did have to play doubleheader on March 23rd, and beat Stetson in the nightcap 16-6.

Michigan 46-20.
#8 Texas Tech 43-18.

March 21st 11-2.
March 22nd 10-3.
March 23rd 8-5.

Michigan just beat the #1 team in the nation 2 of 3 and the loss was 12 inninger. (sic). Why is there any concern about Texas Tech outside of the random outcomes athletics offers?

I agree, but ...

Watching those Creighton and UCLA games, I think kinda spooked me (and I assume others) because we didn't look dominant.

But it's hard to look dominant against good teams I suppose.

Baseball is the game with the most random outcomes of all the major sports.

Any given game is just about a tossup, going in given the variables, but most especially who?s pitching is better that day.

The next round starts Saturday. Not sure yet what time Michigan will play Texas Tech.

I do worry a bit about all the travel this team has had to do. In the last 5 weeks They have played @Nebraska then the B10 tournament was in Omaha Nebraska. Then they had to go to Oregon then LA to play UCLA and now back to Omaha. Most of the teams that advanced have been playing at home or close to it the past few weeks.

Dang Michigan and Indiana (2013) are the only big ten schools to make the college World Series in the last 35 years.

After losing game 1 of the Big Ten Tournament the 5-4 come from behind win against Illinois was huge. If they lose that game I doubt we make the ncaa. But going 3-2 in btt Espically beating the highest rpi team in Illinois was huge. They were down to their last 2 strikes in that game before the walk off double by Nwogu. Remember in that Illinois game we had only 1 run in dating back to the osu game in the last 16 innings.

Another odd stat I just read considering the big ten has only had 2 teams make it in the last 35 years to Omaha. Article I just read Said only Vanderbilt (2014) and Michigan (1953, and 1962) or the only two team of the eight in Omaha to win a title. Man the FSU coach has over 2000 wins and no title . I guess this is pretty hard to even get there let alone win. Especially for Northern schools.
