Baseball, UCLA Super Regional

I just went back and looked at the Nwogu go throw out and I stand by my call that sending him was the right decision.

I?ve seen way more scoring opportunities fizzle by holding a guy with two out and the next guy pops out or flies out or strikes out than I have seen the guy who was sent get thrown out at the plate.

I would have been sending Jordan six days a week and twice on Sunday if I was the third base coach.

I stand by holding him.. I bet we get a new pitcher there. He wasn?t at third base when the ball was in the left fielder glove. Not only is he in third but speedy brewer is on first. Oh well
Agree to disagree. Was he at third Yet ?

Agreed to disagree.

And again, I?ve seen way more next hitters with two outs after a runner was held at third strike out pop out or ground out then I have seen runners who were sent get thrown out at the plate.

Doing the math, with a runner on second base the best hitters have a one in three chance of getting a base hit with that runner in scoring position.

When you hold that runner in scoring position, then you need to get again, those of the best hitters, to capitalize on that one in three chance to get a base hit, again with the runner in scoring position.

Unless the runner is Miguel Cabrera, you always send a runner from second on a base hit with two out.

Always.

I?m not even a saber geek and even I can do that math.

Crap and UCLA has just tied the game on a homerun.

Why but the clean up hitter was up. Ball was a lazer hit right to lf. Yeah if it?s the number 7 8 or 9 hitter. Brewer bats third. Yeah it takes a two out hit. But again that he may have been pulled.
