Not that I really wanted Berry on the team that much, but Id want almost anyone over Don ****ing Kelly. Goddamnit...I KNEW that this would happen the minute we invited him back to camp.

Imagine how Berry feels, though he would have no cause to gripe, but for this one exception.

4 for 4 in yesterday's loss, falling just short of hitting for the cycle by a triple. Hit 2 doubles and his 2nd homer in as many GP, boosting his spring BA to above .300 w/ 4 homers and a 1.103 OPS.

Hmmm...methinks that Kelly may soon need a random drug test, IF he keeps this pace up.

Kelly has outplayed him this spring and earned a spot to start the year. Good for him and I hope it keeps up.

Spring Training numbers.

Do any of you seriously think Don Kelly is going to hit like this during the season? If so, might I suggest you see a Neurologist? Because you might have a tumor growing in the logic center of your brain.

Although I have to agree, Berry not making the team does not break my heart at all, but Don Kelly is just another DFA waiting to happen. I swear Leyland and Dombrowski are like little kids who can't let go of a stray dog. They fed it, now it will never leave.

Of course he isn't going to .300 but people act like he has never helped this ball club and they are wrong. The argument has grown stale and we all will just have to agree to disagree but I like the guy and what he brings as the 25th man.

Kelly or Berry. Flip a coin and hope it lands on the edge.

Jose Mesa, Daniel Schlereth, Ryan Perry, Adam Everett, all those players helped this ball club at some point also, but that does not mean they are good players or should be on the roster of a team in serious contention for a Championship.

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while.

What is the point? The point is even though Kelly helps the team sometimes, he hurts it more often than he helps.

Still, I don't mind so much when the options are Kelly and Berry. Neither are great options.

Kelly is fine when considering the other options. Those of you that complain about Kelly don't seem to have any suggestions of who would be a better option.

Kelly has these career stats: .232 .283 .344 .628. So my informed suggestion would be: Anyone Else.

Donny Mudhen, has a nice ring to it. I don't mind him filling in once a week, but I'm afraid that since he plays multiple positions, that he will be in the lineup on a regular basis filling in at different positions.

obviously the Tigers value his versatility as a utility player. If they had anybody better that could fit their need for that position they would have used them.

That's the point. They don't anyone better and Kelly is the 25th guy by default, not by design.

I love our bench. Kelly is what he is, a leader. He is not gonna set the world on fire statistically but come crunch time, he will deliver defensively. Pena will be a welcome relief from a game calling standpoint, no one thinks of that. Tuso is hit or miss just like a Raburn or Inge may be respectively. A great deal of diversity defensively and leadership on the bench (Santiago, Kelly, Pena). Do not under estimate the power of veteran leaders on the bench. They are the special and make championship teams. We have a great manager and excellent coaching to add. The Tigers are gonna win the World Series, wait and see.
