As most of you know, I live in boston and all the media attention they get from 'national media' and all, I couldn't help but chuckle, and had to add this.

A power struggle is emerging between the Boston GM and manager, writes Globe columnist Christopher Gasper.
Boston Globe piece -- Tigers followers can deduce why new Red Sox GM Ben Cherington wanted Gene Lamont over Bobby Valentine as manager.

Power struggle may weaken Red Sox.

i still wish theyd taken lamont off our hands.

Based on KC's OP, looks like the Dread Sux might still do so eventually, although I think that Leyland may greatly rely upon Lamont's managerial wisdom and gameday advice, perhaps much more than we Tigers fans are aware of.

Valentine is a tool. This reminds me of pro wrestling with the smack talk

Valentine actually is a perfect manager for the Dread Sux' ink-stained-wretch scribes and boorish fans, since he mirrors their arrogance, red-headed stepchild-like tantrums and entitled attitudes so accurately.

I scratched my head when the Sox traded SS Marco Scutaro. New GM Cherington has made a few questionable moves already.

It's possible Valentine may outlive Cherington in BeanTown.

Alex Cora, Edgar Renteria and Miguel Tejada are available. Heck, Cherington could even give a call-out to recently retired Adam Everett....lol
