Brandon flowers released

Calvin resturcture for 3.2 million opened up. Add 800 K each year to his cap number. No big deal.

If we dont resign Suh soon then I think this will be his last year in Detroit.

One of them is gone anyways. Who do you want - Suh or Fairley? Easy answer..

Not that easy, if I can get Fairley and another very good player for the price of Suh I would lean towards Fairley.

With the increased cap and future caps expected to increase Suh is going to get the largest DT contract ever.

This is assuming Nick stays on the field and shows more consistent production.

Fairley kills it and he gets a monster contract regardless. Then you have to worry about what type of player you`re getting every Sunday with Nick. We`ve seen Fairley light it up in the past, but we`ve also seen the lazy Fairley too. Giving a guy like him that big money worries the hell out of me.
Now with Suh, you`re getting a beast who goes 110% every play. Work ethic, leader by example. Give me Suh all day over Fairley because he`s the better player by far.

I agree, I could see Fairley going fat Albert if he gets another big contract. Paying Suh elite de money just seems insane to me though. It's a double edged sword, I'd like to see both of them walk honestly. Only if they could find a couple dts that are serviceable though.

I can't imagine Fairley getting huge money even if he does have a good year. He certainly won't have a monster year..it's not in him. Maybe he gets a bit more consistent, sign him to a reasonable deal and draft a DT at 6 if Suh is gone.

They'll be drafting in the high teens or better. Have a little faith

I have faith in God, faith that the sky is blue, and faith that my son will do dumb things.

Faith in the Lions..

The Favorites

1. Atlanta Falcons: Rapoport reports that the Falcons have been monitoring Flowers' availability, and they could be ready to pounce. Second-year pros Desmond Trufant and Robert Alford are a very promising duo, but the group lacks depth. A Flowers addition would give the Falcons one of the best trios in the league. New Falcons front office member Scott Pioli signed Flowers to his "$48.75 million extension" in Kansas City. (Flowers only got half that money) This marriage makes a lot of sense, and the Falcons have the cap room to get it done.

2. Houston Texans: There's another direct connection from Kansas City here. Defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel coached Flowers, who is perfect for his system. Flowers could combine with Johnathan Joseph and Kareem Jackson to form a strong cornerback group.

Logical fits

3. Carolina Panthers: General manager Dave Gettleman has taken his salary cap medicine for much of the offseason, but their huge need at cornerback is hard to ignore.

4. Detroit Lions: Flowers would be a massive upgrade from Chris Houston, who was released on Friday.

lol....massive upgrade over Houston!

Switch to 3-4. Draft a huge fatty in rd 3 to play nt. Pay him 600k. Save 100 mil by letting suh and fairley walk. Put 100 mil into the offense to help stafford overcome all his deficiencies lol.
