Braun wins appeal of doping case on technicality

The guy's test levels were supposedly off the charts and they are letting him off because the courier left the pee in his fridge until FedEx reopened? Ridiculous.

Unfortunately for him, to most everyone else who is a baseball fan, they have already found him guilty in the "court of public opinion", and he will likely get FAR more grief as a result, especially when on the road, than if Braun had admitted to doping and served his suspension...oh well.

Braun does himself no favors by claiming that this ruling proves his innocence, either, IMO.

My conspiracy theory thinks that baseball does not want an MVP winner to have a doping scandal attached to him since they thought they were finally passed all of this.

I agree, and don't really think it's that far of a stretch to be considered a conspiracy theory.

Bautista seems fishy as hell, and Braun a sitting MVP, MLB does not want to go through this again.

I'm just waiting for Manny to cry racism because the white kid got off the hook.

Is it me or do the Brewers fall on the lucky side a lot since Selig became commissioner?

This is simply amazing. When I first heard, I thought maybe they had some evidence exonnerating him. This is a bit like the cat burglar getting off because the cops did not have probable cause even though they caught him with the goods.

actually, after listening to him...i believe him. He's passed all of his previous tests and 2011 wasn't much different from any of his other years. The main reason he won mvp is because the brewers were good. He had the same numbers as his first 4 years in the league.

And for the record, I've NEVER changed my opinion on these roid heads after listening to their speech. He seemed genuine and if you look at his numbers....they just don't look suspicious.

i said the same thing when this happened, but I don't see why the guy would need to take a steroid. He had been a great player (and still young) in his first four years in baseball. I don't know what happened with his test, but he didn't pull a barry bonds.

Yeah, but the technicality was pretty dumb of the guy delivering the sample. Like they said, there were 5 Fed Ex buildings within 5 miles that were open till 9. And delivering the sample 40 some hours after he should have done it is pretty dumb. I'm not an expert on urine samples or the tampering of urine samples, so it is hard for me to make any kind of judgement.

Maybe Braun isn't innocent, but maybe that dumbass should have just done his job.

If the MLB wants to do it right, they need to have the players go directly to the lab and do the sample there. Not sure if there's only one lab that MLB uses or not, but they should have one near every MLB city.

I don't know if the dude is guilty or not either, but I just don't see a reason why the guy would need steroids. Unless, he's been successfully fooling the tests since he got into baseball...which is unlikely...IMO.
