Breaking news! Lions expected to sign Marvin Jones day 1 FA

He's young and he has the talent. Don't forget he was second fiddle to one of the best in the world in AJ Green. And that's a team with 2 stud RBs too. He could be a welcome addition to the Lions. I'm not banging the table for the kid to come here but i wouldn't be opposed to it either.

And another solid WR in Sanu and Eifert at TE. The Red Rifle has lots of options, and probably a better OL.

Breer of NFL Network hasn't connected us to Jones. If we are after him Quinn is a smooth operator.

Jones is the hot commodity at WR right now. More than a few teams pursuing him I guess.....Schefter reports

Breaking News! Lions agree with Marvin Jones. Well it's not breaking since I broke it last week.

I like this signing - especially at the $8mil/year price tag.

That is roughly 1/3 of what Megatron would be making - which is kind of crazy to think about.

He's also just 25. His best days should be ahead of him. Tate, Jones, Ebron, Riddick, Abdullah. Young guns.

Good signing. Probably means they wont take a WR in the 1st. Still need one though but not a huge priority as much now. The youth movement is taking place....

Good signing especially if the amount of around 8 million is true. Not sure we have a legit #1 WR, but we have two very good #2s now.

Any chance they somewhat frontload this contract given the large amount of cap space they have?

Yeah a lot of money off the books with no CJ next year

Would love to lock up Slay long term this year. Not have to worry about the franchise tag at the end of the season

With Ziggy and Slay up next year it sure would be nice to get one signed this year. Also move some of their future money into this year while we have the cap space and main core under contract.

Ziggy was a first year pick so we should have a 5th year option we can pick up. That would mean more important to get Slay locked up this year knowing we still have another year for Ziggy

That's right, forgot about the 5th year option.
